Knez Mihalova is certainly one of the most famous streets in Belgrade. Located in the very center of the city, this pedestrian street is always lively, filled with people, musicians and other performers.

The street dates back to the early Roman period when it was one of the main streets. During the whole course of Serbian history it remained one of the most important places in the city where prominent buildings and mansions were located. It got it's current name in 1870 after Prince Mihailo Obrenović who was assassinated two years prior.
