๐Ÿš€ OneStory is entering its final stretch!

Throughout late October and early November, our team will be visiting schools across Cyprus to pilot the OneStory AI Empathy Simulator, bringing our innovative approach to learning through simulated experience into the classroom.

These pilot sessions will allow us to put the project into practice, gather valuable feedback, and take another step towards fostering empathy, understanding and inclusion among young people using AI.

We're excited to see OneStory in action and share the results with you. Stay tuned! ๐Ÿ‘€

What an incredibly inspiring afternoon we had at the YOU BELONG online FEMP Workshop.

We dove deep into what it truly means to navigate, thrive, and lead as women in male-dominated fields. Our brilliant speakers, Aleksandra Kulbaka (Medical AI PhD) and Panagiota Polykarpou (Girls in STEAM Academy), shared candid stories and actionable tools for building confidence and resilience.

The biggest takeaway? Your unique perspective is not a barrier; itโ€™s your strength. You belong exactly as you are.

Thank you to everyone who joined, shared, and made this workshop so meaningful. Letโ€™s keep this momentum going! ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ก

Do you ever feel like you have to prove you belong?

Youโ€™re not alone.

Join us on 22 September at 4 PM CET (5 PM Cyprus time, 3 PM Madeira time) for a conversation about women, confidence and belonging in male-dominated fields.

Weโ€™ll be talking about the things that often stay behind the scenes.

You belong. Letโ€™s talk about it.

Meet the OneStory Characters ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ’ฌ

Yasmin ๐ŸŽจ 14 years old, Syrian, now living in Nicosia. She arrived not knowing the language and still deals with being mocked for her accent and left out by classmates. Art is how she expresses herself. Her story is about starting over, holding onto who you are, and finding your place somewhere new ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ

Viktor ๐ŸŽง 15 years old, Cypriot/Bulgarian, and living in Limassol. Born and raised in Cyprus, yet still treated like an outsider, Viktor is mocked for his surname, constantly marginalised, and even pushed out of group chats online. Track and field and music are his ways of coping and finding a sense of belonging. His story explores identity, exclusion, and the emotional cost of trying to hold everything together ๐Ÿƒ

๐ŸŽจ Meet Yasmin.

She's 14. She moved from Syria to Cyprus a few years ago. She loves drawing, but lately, school has become a place where she feels like she doesn't belong.

Yasmin is the first interactive AI character in OneStory; an AI empathy simulator designed to help young people explore real-life experiences through meaningful conversations.

Every story has a voice. Every voice deserves to be heard.

๐ŸŽฅ This is just the beginning.

To celebrate the International Women in Engineering Day (INWED), we are highlighting the women shaping and driving innovation at Technologos โš™๏ธ

From early career engineers to leadership, our team reflects a shared belief: technology should be inclusive, diverse, and driven by purpose.

Our founder and director, Anastasia Eleftheriou, has led numerous European initiatives across AI, digital safety, sustainability and social impact, and continues to build technology that empowers communities through Technologos ๐Ÿš€ Holding a First-Class Honours degree in Computing from Imperial College London and a PhD in Complex Systems Simulation from the University of Southampton, she is an award-winning communicator recognised nationally and internationally.

Kalli, senior software designer ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ’ป, holds an MEng in Computing from Imperial College London ๐ŸŽ“ and has worked as a Software Engineer at Amazon Development Centre London. She now focuses on immersive technologies at Technologos and CYENS Centre of Excellence, building extended reality applications using Unity and Unreal Engine ๐Ÿ•ถ๏ธ

Chloe, our software engineering intern joining us this summer, is a final-year student in Mathematics and Statistics at the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) ๐Ÿ“š. With a strong passion for Artificial Intelligence, she shares that โ€œanything is possibleโ€ and that no gender label should limit our goals or ambitions ๐Ÿ’ช

Together, their journeys highlight the many paths into engineering and the importance of representation in shaping the future of technology.

Happy International Women in Engineering Day ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’™

As part of the FemPowered Islands Erasmus+ project, we at Technologos hosted our own focus group in Cyprus ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡พ, bringing together women entrepreneurs and professionals to share their experiences, challenges and insights around work, leadership and opportunity ๐Ÿ’ผ

The discussion was open, honest and thought provoking, highlighting both how far things have come and how much work still remains.

A few quotes that stood out:

๐Ÿ’ฌ "It takes a lot of commitment, long hours, patience and discipline," but "if you find something that you love to do, it doesn't matter if it's your initiative or someone else's, you are happy to do so".

๐Ÿ’ฌ "Years back you would not find women in male-dominated roles like the police or you would find 1 female doctor in 100 male doctors. Things are better now, but we are still many years behind".

We are grateful to everyone who took part and shared their voice. Conversations like these are essential in building stronger, more inclusive communities across island regions.

You can read the findings report from our focus group on the project website under the โ€œDeliverablesโ€ section ๐Ÿ”—
