The clock was first installed in 1410, making it the third-oldest astronomical clock in the world and the oldest clock still operating. It has recently been refurbished as well.

The clock is mounted on the southern wall of Old Town Hall in the Old Town Square. The clock mechanism has three main components — the astronomical dial, representing the position of the Sun and Moon in the sky and displaying various astronomical details; statues of various Catholic saints stand on either side of the clock; "The Walk of the Apostles", a clockwork hourly show of figures of the Apostles and other moving sculptures, notably a figure of a skeleton, representing Death, striking the time; and a calendar dial with medallions representing the months. According to local legend, the city will suffer if the clock is neglected and its good operation is placed in jeopardy; a ghost, mounted on the clock, was supposed to nod its head in confirmation. According to the legend, the only hope was represented by a boy born on New Year's night.

I had seen pictures of Old Town Square online prior to our visit as well as the astronomical clock, but that first view of it after exiting the small alleyway to get here was unbelievable. It didn’t even look real at first, it legitimately took our breath away as we stood there and just enjoyed the moment. Great city, great views, must visit to experience it.

The Man Hanging Out sculpture is a unique one, and one that is commonly overlooked or unnoticed along the streets of Prague. This sculpture is of the psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud pondering wether to hold on and tighten his grip or release it and let go. It’s near Old Town in Prague. It’s 7 feet tall.

Františkánská Zahrada is hidden between a maze of corridors near Wenceslas Square. This little garden is a nice contrast to busy hustle and bustle of the nearby square as it’s surrounded by benches to sit and enjoy the day!
