With Easter Holidays the tourist season has begun. May and June are the top two spring months for travelling.

The international operations here at ITC Travel are now taking the momentum with a group returning a few days ago from a trip to an international medical congress held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, a youth dance group which left yesterday for World Dance Masters competition in Poreč, Croatia, a US student group arriving at the end of May in Poland to visit Krakow, Wroclaw and Prague before continuing their European trip in France and last but not least a congress group travelling to Geneva, Switzerland at the end of June.

Another successful Prague Pre-Cruise program departed this morning to Vilshofen (Germany) with an en route stop in Cesky Krumlov, a UNESCO Heritage Town nested in the picturesque South Bohemian countryside.

A quick visit to Wroclaw followed by the last stop on this scouting trip: a mysterious unique underground world in Osówka - Project Riese Wlodarz on the Czech-Polish border built by the Germans during the WW2.

The facility of war, built under the codename Riese in the Owl Mountains by the Third Reich in the years of 1943-1945. For a short time they made almost 2 km of underground corridors, halls and sidewalks. You can see guardhouses, technical corridor and an enormous, 10 m high hall and many buildings on the ground. According to one hypothesis, after completing the Germans planned to deploy here researchers working on wunderwafe and a prototype of the atomic bomb. Others say that “the gold train” and lorries with gold of Wroclaw had been hidden somewhere around.

The Polish celebrating May 1st as one of their most important holidays maily using this day to travel, picknick in the Polish and Czech mounain resorts and hiking.

A short business week prompted to carry out a quick 2 nights site visit to Krakow and Wroclaw to finalize ground arrangements for a group programme confirmed for the end of May. Freezing cold outside was generously compensated by a warm welcome from the hotel management. Taditional Polish hospitality at its best.

Our Thursday full day site visit to the scenic south Bohemian lake and mountain countryside with our corporate client fine tuning the event arrangements for a meeting in June.

Tuesday was a busy day. Yet ITC crew managed to squeeze in a 3 hours' morning experience site visit to a function space in the Prague's environs including sushi class, wine quizz, drawing and portrait painting lesson, ikebana flower arranging workshop and a creative AV presentation. What a pleasant start of a weekday.

A 2-night program for a corporate group from the UK departed from Prague on Wednesday. A seamless operation as usual luckily not affected by prolonged Lufthansa strike.
