If you find yourself tired, hungry, thirsty, or overwhelmed in the Prague Castle district, here is a new place where to recharge 🥐🍨🥂☕️

Inside the 16th-century Schwarzenberg Palace, you will now find an amazing spot for breakfast, coffee, splendid pastries, and the best views from the toilets.

Myšák Prague Castle.

"Myšák" means mouse in Czech, so prepare for a fun surprise inside, as glass mice frolic on giant chandeliers.

Cukrárna Myšák, the brand, is a traditional Czech confectionery store with a history since 1911. So this is not something that popped up from nothing. It's their another location. The first, original one is close to Wenceslas Square.

Swing by between 8 AM and 6 PM.

And here’s my golden tip: arrive at Prague Castle bright and early! Then you will be profoundly rewarded for your effort in this lovely little café and the amazing, quiet atmosphere of Prague Castle. Before the crowds come! Castle is open from 6AM!!!

What did I try? A croissant with a fresh egg spread, my all-time favorite Czech dessert called Indiánek (yes, that’s the thing that looks hmmm, unusual in my picture) and an espresso macchiato.

And the fun fact? Their toilets. The restrooms! After sipping your coffee or lemonade, you will set off on your little underground palace adventure as you walk through looooong corridors, burning off a few pastry calories. It’s a blast! And the toilets have great views!

HOW TO BOOK A TOUR WITH ME ✍️👣

1) First, please make sure you want to see Prague in a less touristy way👍If you only have limited time and need to see the highlights, main squares, and must-sees, I would recommend looking at some other companies.

2) Small-group tours: I regularly guide my small-group tours for up to 4 people in the group. It´s a shared tour, either for two couples, four solo travelers or any other combination of four people who usually don´t know each other. This tour you can easily book on my website. There is a booking calendar. The price of this tour is €70/pp.

3) If you prefer a private tour (which is the most popular option among my guests), then simply drop me a line at [email protected], and we can start planning your Prague adventure. You will communicate directly with me. The size of the private groups is a maximum of 8 people.

The pictures are examples of places where you can end up with me📷😉Especially during my private tours. So, no traditional images you know from the internet when Googling Prague.

STREET PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP 📷

Great three days guiding a group of photographers at Valerie Jardin's workshop. www.valeriejardinphotography.com

My role involved creating the itinerary with various locations and ensuring smooth transfers between points A, B, C, D, and back to A 😉

I helped answer questions of all kinds and supported the group as a local expert with local knowledge.

We were fortunate with the weather. Spring truly revealed its beauty.

The group was wonderful, filled with passion for street photography, and expertly guided by the professional photographer, Valerie. She organizes photo workshops all over the world, and Prague was her new destination 😍

We all walked for miles, rode trams and the subway, and I enjoyed so much being a “border collie,” monitoring the group at different locations 😁🐕

Farmers' market, design market, parks, city center, train stations...

This was a different kind of work, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Would you believe this peaceful garden is only five minutes away from the busy Charles Bridge?

It’s free to enter, and almost everybody just walks past it.

It’s huge. Just hidden behind a tall, unattractive wall.

There are several beehives, around 15 peacocks freely walking around you, public toilets, a drinking fountain...

A little island of tranquility in the chaos of tourism.

Koláče, buchty, šátečky, rohlíčky, vdolky...These are the most typical Czech pastries you can find in every bakery.

Downtown Prague you will see at every corner the so-called “trdelník” / chimney cake. Guys, this is an invention of Prague mass tourism. This treat was designed primarily to attract tourists (therefore it’s also ridiculously overpriced).

In reality, it’s not something we bake and buy :-)

Dear clients, I am safely back home from Laos. And do you know what? On my way back, when flying via Bangkok, I met the very first client of Prague Behind The Scenes, Kyle from the USA.

How surreal is this!

Dear clients, today starts my holiday, and I am heading to Laos. So for the next month, I will not be a guide but a tourist! 😄

It would be wonderful and extremely helpful if you could send me your emails and tour requests when I arrive on March 20 🙏 thank you for your kind understanding.

I’ll have a tablet with me to respond comfortably, but I won’t be able to draft itineraries or compose long emails. Although the S Pen is a handy tool, having ten fingers to assist upon my return would be much quicker and easier. :)
