🇬🇧 It's a fantastic feeling to bring an old radio back to everyday life that has been silently dusting in the house for years. This JVC radio was given by the Brothers Havlik to their dad who bought it in the 1980s (for not a small amount of money).
This ancient ghetto blaster produced by Victor Company of Japan was the Jaguar of Cassette Recorders.
As an YKON radio, some extra features are included with Bluetooth connectivity, such as a magnetic connector that charges the lithium batteries. This may seem unnecessary until someone stumbles in the charging cable. At that moment... it's quite useful.
The digital alarm clock also works, though we only did this for the sake of completeness.
We retained the original speakers with the original JVC quality! And sounds amazing!
We hope that this birthday surprise brings back a lot of beautiful memories and more memories of it in the future.

🇭🇺 Fantasztikus érzés olyan rádiókat visszahozni a mindennapokba, amik évek óta csendben porosodnak valahol a házban. Ezt a JVC rádiót a Havlik testvérek ajándékozták "vissza" apukájuknak, aki az 1980-as években vásárolta meg (nem kevés pénzért).
A Victor Company of Japan által gyártott ős ghetto blaster volt a kazettás magnók Jaguárja.
YKON rádióként a Bluetooth csatlakozás mellett került bele néhány extra is, például egy mágneses csatlakozó, ami a lítium akkumulátorokat tölti. Ez feleslegesnek tűnhet egészen addig, amíg valaki meg nem botlik a töltő kábelben. Abban a pillanatban egészen hasznos.
A digitális ébresztő óra is működik, bár ezt inkább csak a teljesség kedvéért tettük.
Az eredeti hangszórókat megtartottuk, az eredeti JVC minőséggel együtt!
Reméljük, hogy ez a születésnapi meglepetés sok szép emléket hoz vissza és mégtöbb emlék fűződik még hozzá a jövőben.

🇬🇧 We decided to make some great radio, which we collected at the beginning of summer and put all our extras into it. The radio that we are currently working on is an Orion AR301, manufactured in 1956 in Hungary.

Now, exceptionally, we replace the original fabric with a metallic glittering gold-colored acoustic fabric due to the sound quality.🔝
Because in this radio a total of 60W sound power will rattle! 💪 For this performance, the original canvas would be too thick, catching the sound and resonating in the deep ranges.💤

For the tone and volume adjustment buttons, these elegant gold-plated aluminum caps were chosen. Of course there will still be a few extra ... but later on. 😇

🇭🇺 Elhatároztuk, hogy elkészítünk néhány remek rádiót, amit még nyár elején gyűtöttünk össze és beleteszünk minden extrát, amit csak lehet. A rádió, amin jelenleg dolgozunk egy Orion AR301 típus, amit 1956-ban gyártottak Magyarországon.
Most kivételesen az eredeti szövetet lecseréljük egy fémesen csillogó arany színű akusztikai szövetre, a hangminőség miatt. Mert ebben a rádióban összesen 60W hangteljesítmény fog dübörögni! Ehhez a teljesítményhez túl sűrű lenne az eredeti vászon, lefogná a hangot és berezonálna a mély tartományokon.
A hangszín és hangerőbeállító gombokhoz pedig ezeket az elegáns aranybevonatú aluminium sapkákat választottuk. Persze még lesz egy-két extra... de arról majd később. 😇😇

We are happy to share with you that we're participating in the Moveco exhibition in which is about circular economy, under the Danube Transnational Programme.

One of our Schaub-Lorenz Bluetooth radios will be presented on 4 European countries by September 20. (Left corner ;) )

Not only individual stories, but protecting our environment are important to us as well. That's why we've been delighted with the opportunity because we don't want old vintage radios to remain in the attics, cellars or electronic waste. We hope that our message reaches as many people as possible with this great initiative.

From August 13 to September 20, 2018, the EU project MOVECO will be presenting a free exhibition on the circular economy at the Augsburg Technology Centre in Germany. Afterwards, it will travel further to Slovenia, Slovakia and Austria until the summer of 2019.

A month ago, a guy emailed us with an extraordinary idea!

"Can we build a Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin into an Orion AR6012 "Pacsirta" tube radio?"

So, yes we can and we've already done this job! We worked so hard on every detail of it. So ladies and gentlemen here are the results!
This Pacsirta tube radio was made in Budapest, 1962. It was one of the most precious models which became a status symbol. It was worth 2800 Hungarian Forints, which at that time corresponded to 2-3 months' salary. It was the iPhone X of the era! The Mercedes of Hungarian tube radios.

56 years later, today, it has regained its original glory. Behind the charming outlook, with 2x25 watts tweet, 2x25 watt middle and 1x50 watts of sub loudspeakers it has the amazing sound quality of Bowers & Wilkins!
Many thanks to Balázs Édes, who insisted on his idea and we could help him realize it!
We hope that we will soon be able to present the beast's new home. Until then stay tuned!

Our last Schaub-Lorenz Junior YKON radio found its new home in the U.S.! At this time we used some new features so it has a magnetic USB charging cable and a BT pairing name "YKON Radio".
