A news update from Abandoned Berlin

It’s been so long since there was any news update on this site you probably think it’s been abandoned. But as you hopefully see, it’s been totally redesigned and I hope it’s much better than before. There’s other news too.

12 famed Berliner buildings including Palast der Republik and the Deutschlandhalle that don't exist anymore.

Guess you'll soon be able to add the Fischerpinte at Plötzensee to the list.

NEW POST! The beloved Fischerpinte at Plötzensee has sadly met its end after the death of its owner. It was probably the best place anywhere in Berlin to enjoy a beer in summer. The photos were taken yesterday.

Fischerpinte was a beloved old-Berliner boathouse, pub and biergarten on wooden decking at Plötzensee that the Bezirksamt won’t allow reopen after the proprietor died.

It's probably the cheapest bar in Berlin, and that's always a good thing to know. Peace ✌️

The Anti-War Café feels like a romantic throwback to the plenary room of a 1980s squat. The main theme here is peace – peace on Earth and peace with the Soviet people.
