Did you know you can take a day trip to Greece from Turkey?

It’s possible in a few places along the Turkish coast where Greek islands are just a short ferry ride away.

We took the ferry from Kaş to the easternmost Greek island Kastellorizo.

Basic Info:
- Two ferry lines: Meis Express and Meis Ferry Lines
- Tickets are 25 euro per adult round trip
- The boat ride is around 30 minutes long
- You will pass through passport control and customs on both sides and need to pay a 5 euro customs fee and a 200TL customs fee

It sounds glamorous to pop over to Greece for the day, but what is the reality?

The truth is there was a lot of line waiting to go through passport control and customs. We accidentally booked the second boat and I wouldn’t do that again. Because our boat arrived to the island after the first boat (Meis Express), we had to wait for all of those passengers to clear the Greek passport control before we could even get off the boat.

So we waited for a while on the boat and then you need to rush to be front of the line so you don’t wait behind everyone on your boat too. They prioritize EU passports and so they let those people go first, everyone else has to wait in the secondary line.

So what did we do with our few hours in Greece?

We ate, shopped, lounged, and walked. In total I think we had about 4.5 hours to use on the island.

It might have been worth it for the food alone as we can’t readily get Greek food in Turkey. For whatever reason most of the restaurants are Turkish, burgers, and pizza and there’s not a lot of variety beyond that.

Getting a Greek salad, some tzatziki, and delicious house wine was honestly so fun. Loved it! The town is cute but it’s not like Mykonos with white and blue buildings everywhere. We went as part of a big group so it was a fun day out, but I’m not sure I’d repeat it again for just my family.

Those are the basic how to’s and our honest opinion of doing a day trip like this. Is this something you would want to try?

It wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world to visit EuropaPark this summer 🎢

The reasons we love this park (if you couldn’t tell from the video):

💶 Affordable in comparison to other theme parks
🌸 This park is genuinely beautiful, it feels like you’re walking through a garden
🎡 Plenty of ride options for all ages
🆓 Free Virtual Line on the app helps cut down long waits
🏰 Fun theming that takes you around Europe in one day
😌 Not overly complicated to plan, you can just show up and have a great day (but I do have some tips for you if you want to take your trip up a notch)

This is a place my kids keep asking to go back to, and I’m sure yours will be the same!

Commenting “EP tips” will send the link to my detailed blog post right to your DMs 🎠

If this is wrong, I don’t want to be right

Hiking in the Alps just might ruin you forever.

Setting the record straight.

I haven’t been to every pool in Germany, but I’ve never been to an outdoor pool that had actual heated water. It’s always *refreshing* water that is usually way too cold for me 🙃

Indoor pools are heated but not quite to what I think the American expectation is. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Other things to know about visiting public pools in Germany:

- bring cash, sometimes cards are not accepted
- Most of the time there is a food kiosk selling bratwurst, ice cream, and beer but people also bring their own picnics in
- Don’t be surprised if you see people changing in and out of their suits out in the open 👀
- I’ve been impressed that most of the pools I’ve been to have some kind of baby pool, slides, and some high dives
- There’s usually not a ton of sun loungers, most people pop their towels down on the grass

If you’re going to the Garmisch-Partenkirchen area check out the pools in:

📍Farchant (featured in this video)
📍Grainau
📍Lermoos (Austria)
📍Oberammergau

And it was completely worth it.

I could’ve just done this the whole trip and I would’ve been happy. I didn’t know I loved baby lambs until I held one but man, they are adorable!

Ireland is a place for you if you love animals.

What we did:
🐑 Sheepdog demonstration at
🦙Stopped at Lios Stone Circle Farm off of Slea Head Drive
🦅 Falconry Experience at Kingdom Falconry

These are the places we went but the good news is there are similar spots all over Ireland. Plenty of places for you to meet farm animals, lambs, and birds of prey. And if you get out on the water you might also see puffins, basking sharks, dolphins, and seals.
