With its gentle current and wide riverbed, there’s plenty of room to paddle side by side—three across, no problem!

New to gravel biking and looking for scenic, beginner-friendly routes in Bavaria? 🚴‍♂️ Here are five easy to moderate tours that are perfect for getting started:

1️⃣ Three Lakes Tour along the Inn & Salzach - Eastern Bavaria:
Explore the 1,500 km network of bike trails in the Inn-Salzach region. This well-marked route takes you past picturesque lakes – perfect for a summer day with refreshing swim stops along the way.

2️⃣ Castles, beer & biking - Franconia:
This 70 km loop with 1,110 meters of altitude difference leads you to nine impressive castles and palaces in the Haßberge hills. After the climbs, reward yourself with Franconian specialties and a cold beer.

3️⃣ Summit Tour - Allgäu:
Between Wertach and Unterjoch, this moderately difficult route offers varied terrain – gentle hills, flat stretches, and stunning views of the surrounding alpine peaks.

4️⃣ Around Frauenau („Rund um Frauenau Nr. 5“) - Eastern Bavaria:
This moderate route runs about two-thirds on forest roads, with a steady climb of over 300 meters. At the top, you’re rewarded with sweeping views across the Bavarian Forest.

5️⃣ Art Loop – Upper Bavaria:
Part of the “Wasser-Radlwege” (water bike trails), this route is perfect for combining culture and cool-downs. After 20 km you’ll reach Lake Tegernsee – ideal for a swim and coffee break – with art stops and idyllic landscapes along the way.

Follow the rivers Isar, Inn and Danube as you cycle through stunning river landscapes, past swimming spots, playgrounds, beer gardens and campgrounds – ideal for young explorers and relaxed moments alike.
