Welcome to the Seven Chapels Route🚴‍♀️

The route winds through the Swabian Danube Valley, connecting seven wooden chapels with crosses and striking contemporary architecture. Built between 2018 and 2020, these modern spiritual landmarks invite visitors to experience art, reflection, and nature in a unique way.
Perfect for cyclists looking to combine peaceful landscapes, inspiring architecture, and moments of tranquillity.

📏 Length: approx. 153 km circular route
🛤️ Route: mostly low-traffic roads, asphalt and forest paths, well signposted (white number seven on a red background)
🕒 Direction: best ridden counterclockwise
⛪ Highlights: 7 contemporary wooden chapels, crosses, unique architecture, and spiritual spaces

Ready to camp under Bavaria’s starry skies? 🏕️✨

On multi-day trekking tours, you can legally stay overnight deep in the Bavarian forest – at designated trekking campsites. For around €10 per tent and night, you’ll get pure nature without the risk of wild camping.

📍 You’ll find sites in the Spessart, Altmühltal, Steigerwald, Franconian Forest and Upper Palatinate Forest.
🧭 Once you’ve booked, you’ll receive exact GPS coordinates – and then it's time to hit the trail!
💧 Tip: Some regions like the Spessart are dry due to geology – so bring plenty of water.
🎒 All you need: tent, sleeping bag, stove, provisions – and a willingness to disconnect for a while.
