Great exhibition in the German Textile Museum in Krefeld about luxury in bourgeois clothing of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th century. This makes me really want to start new projects - but I'll probably use cotton fabric and not silk 😉.

I have started one last project for this year: a top from around 1885. I decorate black and petrol satin with a stripe pattern and etched lace. However, completion will not take place until 2024.

Today we are having a costume party with family and friends. The decorations have already been done, of course the guests won't arrive until the evening.

Luckily I brought a costume with me on this trip. Hartenfels Castle in Torgau provides a great backdrop for my Redingote from around 1780. The external spiral staircase, called Wendelstein, was also a film set for the fairy tale Sleeping Beauty.

I love my embroidery machine because I can design the costumes much more individually.

A great wig with a big hat with lily of the valley is very decorative with my rococo dress, but on a short hairstyle the whole structure falls apart. After a short time the braid moved from the middle back to the side. Well, most people didn't know that wasn't entirely accurate.
