Some places change us before we have the words to explain why.
The Hill of Crosses in Lithuania was one of those places for me.
I found myself taking photograph after photograph—not because I was afraid I’d forget, but because I needed time to understand what I had just experienced.
Years later, while reflecting on those photographs, I finally found the words.
“Some places are too extraordinary to understand in a single moment. I took photographs so I could return later because my heart needed more time to catch up with what my eyes had just seen.”
That sentence has become one of the guiding principles behind Echoes of Europe.
Thank you for walking this journey with me.
