🌸 SAKURA SEASON 🌸

The Cherry Blossom Boulevard at Bispebjerg Cemetary is in full bloom, drawing many pink enthusiasts to Nordvest to document one of the season's highlights.

The 43 Japanese cherry trees were planted in 1992, and during the blooming season, the cemetery expects more than 150,000 visitors to stop by to admire the pink flowers 🩷

So here are some good tips you should follow if you are travelling to Bispebjerg Cemetary:
🌸 Arrive early in the morning or during weekdays to avoid the biggest crowds.
🌸 Don't pick any flowers or branches - help us keep the trees healthy.
🌸 The lawn can contain grave sites. Stay on the marked path while visiting.
🌸 Keep in mind that you are visiting a cemetery. There might be funerals or urn ceremonies.

A bakery with a mission 🥖🥧🧇
. It is just what Tír Bakery is. The meaning of Tír comes from head baker Louise Bannon’s home country, Ireland, and translates to ‘Land and region’ ☘️🌱
Louise’s baking ethos is that the grain and ingredients are always sourced from the best land.

That's why all the baked goods at Tír are made with old varieties of grains, mostly Ølands and Rye, sourced from local farms and always freshly milled to get the best aroma and flavour in the sourdough bread, savoury snacks and sweet treats 👨‍🍳👌

You can find Tír Bakery in Frederiksberg at Vodroffsvej 28 or in Sjællands Odde at select opening hours at Gnibenvej 13 📍

Beware of their interpretation of the classic poppyseed pastry 'Thebirkes'... It's addicting 🤤

Nothing screams Spring like the vibrant, yellow houses of Nyboder 💛🌻

Initiated by King Christian IV in 1631, Nyboder was created as housing for the Danish Navy since it rapidly expanded under King Christian IV's rule.

One fun fact about Nyboder is the streets are primarily named after animals, plants and spices. So you can, for example, find Crocodile Street, Fox Street and Lavender Street in this cosy neighbourhood in Østerbro 🐊🦊🪻

Looking for a weekend Spring excursion? ☀️💛

Why not experience a 'dramatic' green oasis in the middle of Copenhagen in the lovely Spring sun 💚

Designed by Cobe, the Opera Park is next to The Royal Danish Opera House.

You can explore six distinct garden zones inspired by floras from around the globe, which also grants the park a fascinating biodiversity that attracts different species of birds and insects 🐦🐝

In the heart of it all, you find Væksthuset, a restaurant, cafe and atrium, which serves up warm temperatures and a seasonal menu 🦋

The sustainable design of the park also carries into how rainwater is collected and used for watering the plants in the park, while the earnings from the underground parking lot cover the operational costs and maintenance of the park ♻️

Be sure to stop by and take in the 'act' on your next visit to Copenhagen!

Dia duit! What's the craic?

Cóbanhávan is green every day 💚🍃🍋‍🟩♻️ But today, the green spirit is extra strong because 'everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day' ☘️

Copenhagen St. Patrick's Day Parade starts later today, and this year marks the 20th anniversary for the parade here in Copenhagen 🌈

C'mere to me: Get an introduction to Gaelic football (GAA) and hurling, listen to bodhráns (traditional handdrums) and Celtic bagpipes, become the next Michael Flatley with traditional Irish dance shows, practice your Gaeilge (Irish) with a pop-up Gaeltacht, meet Irish Wolfhounds 🐺 and quench your thirst with a proper Irish stout. G'wan g'wan g'wan, it'll be grand!

The parade will start at the City Hall at 17.00 and circle the Inner City. Find the complete program on Copenhagen St. Patrick's Day Parade 🟩⬜🟧

Comé in and satisfy your Japanese comfort food cravings at Comé Rice Kitchen 🍚🌾

Comé is Japanese for rice, and at Comé, they aim to introduce the charm of rice through a range of rice-based delicacies with a strong focus on onigiri (Japanese rice balls) 🍙

You can also get karaage chicken, sashimi and other delicate deep-fried deliciousness 🍗🥢

Many locals have already fallen in love with this cosy spot in Kødbyen, and the rice kitchen has limited seating. Luckily, Vesterbro is teeming with excellent hangout spots where you can enjoy your comfort food haul 😋

Be sure to check out the Asian supermarket Ume Asian Supermarket while you are visiting Comé Rice Kitchen and grab your favourite noodles or Ramune soda 🛒

Water under the wheels 🚢🌊

If you have passed Copenhagen Harbour, you have seen the harbour buses sailing back and forth. These yellow wonders offer a different way of getting around Copenhagen and shouldn't be missed!

The buses run entirely on electricity and have been sailing back and forth through the harbour since 2000.
You can jump on the bus and sail from Sydhavn to Nordhavn at a relaxed pace, where you can soak in everyday life of locals passing by 😌

Be sure to check out buses 991, 992 and 993 during your next visit to Copenhagen ⚓🚏

Sunday lunch recommendation 🌭

Harry’s Place is a legendary institution serving classic Danish hotdogs and other delicacies in Nørrebro since 1965.

The founder, Harry Löfvall, also supplied sausages and meatballs to the Copenhagen prisons back in the day.
Since the inmates had to get a certain amount of meat per serving, he ended up developing Harry’s Place's signature dish, 'Børge med Krudt', a big sausage served with a secret ingredient condiment 😋

Be sure to stop by if you are exploring Nørrebro 👏

Happy International Women's Day! ✊

Today, we want to highlight one of the amazing experiences you can find in Copenhagen, built by women we admire.

Dagmars Bodega is a female-led bodega inspired by an old-school 'værtshus' tradition with a modern twist. They have established themselves in a market that has typically been quite male-dominated.

Hear Sarah Jo and Ida explain how Dagmars Bodega was born, why they established a code of conduct before opening the doors and how it is for them to be an unexpected source of inspiration for others 🙌

And be sure to stop by the corner of Gormsgade and Dagmarsgade during your next visit to Copenhagen - everyone is welcome 🫶
