The stunning Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación (also known as Catedral Primada de Americas) in Santo Domingo. This church is one of the most important historical and religious landmarks in the Ciudad Colonial, as it is considered the oldest cathedral in the Americas that is still standing.

The design blends several European styles: Gothic ribbed vaults, Renaissance details, early colonial Caribbean Coral limestone façades, and more. It generally has a very different feel from many Caribbean churches because the design is deeply European medieval in character. If you look up at the ceiling, you will also see the inspiration of beautiful Caribbean palms.

This cathedral is a must visit when strolling through old town Santo Domingo. There is a small entrance fee of 50 pesos, and they also offer a guided audio tour for 100 pesos (entrance included). It’s a great way to learn about the history here.

The unique airport lounge with an actual swimming pool - where you can enjoy your tropical vacation until the very end, while watching all of the plane action.

The lounge has a light buffet: sandwiches, pastries, snacks, fruit & complimentary drinks (usually 2 local alcoholic drinks included), along with a full bar.

More features: air con, plenty of seats, WiFi + charging stations, TVs, quiet work areas, showers, kids area nearby.

There is generally a time limit of 2-3 hours.
