BMS STEAM Program accomplishes STEAM goals by:
· Collaborative planning, including a cross-section of teachers on each team
· STEAM schema-mapping for the Math & Science National Curriculum integrated with Arts Standards, crafting our Technology and Engineering Curricula based on International Standards that encourage students to contextualize the project with respect to existing knowledge and experience, and to communicate what they learned as a result.
· Alignment and unpacking of standards and assessments
· Provide STEAM opportunities for all students by increasing STEAM experiences and support curricular and after-school STEAM opportunities for students.
· Grounded in inquiry, problem-solving and process-based learning, STEAM lesson is created intentionally to address these focus areas.
STEAM is process-driven through inquiry, design and creativity. The sessions activities are chosen with the goal of leading the students through a five step process, with each step accomplishing a specific process based objective.
