Wadi Gnai “Dahab”:
The valley is located behind one of the resorts of Dahab and near the area of the Three Basins or the Three Pools, it includes a beautiful oasis, and a very wonderful nature.
Enduring the desert and walking through rough mountains is part of Bedouin women’s daily lives.
Bedouin people are used to their limitations and they are inherently environmentally aware and therefore natural conservationists which is an important part of their heritage. They have a system of alliance through which they protect wild plants and animals. They will close a certain valley for three to six months to prevent grazing until it has regrown, to respect sustainability and have tribal laws which prohibits the cutting of “green trees” with severe penalties.
We would love also to highlight the amazing work that has been done by .mountain.oasis to turn a part of the valley into a very relaxing camp where you can find great food, lovely Mexican Temascal Sauna and a spot to spend more time discovering more about the hidden bedouin heritage of Egypt.
