Nawamis, Dragon Mountain and Big Dune — journey to ancient times and golden sands

Let's go where the desert keeps its secrets! Three locations, three emotions: ancient Nawamis tombs, the dragon-shaped rock where you'll have lunch, and a huge dune you'll want to roll down like a sausage. The route suits the whole family — not difficult, but atmospheric to the point of goosebumps. And yes, Bedouins brew tea right by the Dragon over an open fire — you drink it hot in the giant's shade. Pure joy!

🏜 Nawamis — stone circles 4000 years old. Not just ruins, but burial sites of ancient nomads found only in Yemen, Oman and Sinai. Carefully climb inside one of the rings, touch stones almost as old as the pyramids. Behind you — the desert in all its glory, ahead — the feeling you've travelled through time. Photos here turn epic: you're tiny, history is huge.

🏜 Dragon Mountain — a sleeping giant of sandstone. Once the bottom of an ancient sea, now a rock that truly looks like a dragon with folded wings and a raised head. Climb onto its back, hike up the sandy slope to the "eye" or just sit in the shade sipping Bedouin tea brewed right at the foot. While you rest, lunch is being prepared — simple but so tasty after a desert walk.

🏜 Big Dune — the moment everyone becomes a kid again. Soft golden sand, a steep slope and one question: walk down or roll down like a sausage? I always choose the sausage roll — pure adrenaline! At the bottom awaits a cozy canyon with shade, rare greenery and even a tiny pond — the desert's unexpected gift. At the end of the path — our car ready to take you back to Dahab with a full bucket of emotions.

🌄 Sunrise Hike to Mount Moses (Jabal Musa) & Visit St. Catherine Monastery

Join an unforgettable overnight adventure to the sacred Mousa Mountain (Jabal Musa) to witness one of the most breathtaking sunrises in Sinai, followed by a visit to the legendary St. Catherine Monastery — one of the oldest Christian monasteries in the world.

The group departs from Dahab at 11 PM to St. Catherine area (around 1.5 hours).

After meeting our local Bedouin guide and passing the checkpoint, we begin the hike to the summit. The climb takes around 3.5 hours at a comfortable pace with several Bedouin pitstops along the way where you can rest, warm up with tea or coffee, and enjoy snacks while taking in the magical night atmosphere of the mountains.
