We are happy to share with you the official logo created to mark the celebration of 120 years of diplomatic relations between 🇷🇴 and 🇪🇬 in 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣6️⃣.
The anniversary logo brings together powerful symbols deeply rooted in the cultural heritage of both countries.
The number 1️⃣ is represented as the Endless Column, inspired by probably the most famous Romanian sculpture of all times, by Constantin Brâncuși. He was and remains one of Romania’s greatest artists ever and a universal key figure of modern sculpture. In Brâncuși’s vision, the Column symbolizes continuity, spiritual aspiration, and the invisible but endless connection between past, present, and future. Within the logo, this symbol reflects the best of the artistic complexity of the Romanian culture, as well as the enduring nature of the 🇷🇴 🇪🇬relationship, built on shared history and constantly projecting itself toward the future.
The zero takes the form of an Egyptian pharaonique cartouche, one of the most emblematic symbols of ancient Egypt, traditionally associated with eternity, protection by Gods, and the preservation of identity. Within the cartouche, the lotus flower appears as a symbol of rebirth and renewal, but also as a delicate esthetic Egyptian mark, reflecting Egypt’s civilizational refinement, universality, and its role as a pivotal country in the region and beyond.
The logo also integrates the national flags of Romania and Egypt, visually affirming the identities of both states and their partnership founded on mutual respect, friendship, and cooperation.
This logo was created with the artistic contribution of an Egyptian artist, to whom we extend our sincere thanks and appreciation for her creative vision and valuable contribution.
More than a visual identity which we will all intensively use for the one-year long series of celebrations, this logo stands as a symbol of a long-standing, resilient, multi-faceted and forward-looking relationship between Romania and Egypt — a friendship shaped over 120 years of diplomatic interactions, and centuries-old direct contacts through dialogue, economic and cultural exchange. A friendship that continues to grow stronger as both countries look confidently toward the future.
