Seven nights on the Nile. ⛵

That's not a longer version of a three-night cruise. That's a different relationship with the river entirely.

7 NIGHTS — DAHABIYA NILE CRUISE, LUXOR TO ASWAN

This is the longest dahabiya route we run, and it goes the right way: southbound. The wind on the Nile blows from the north, the current runs north, so a boat heading south actually sails. Upstream to Aswan is the direction a dahabiya was built for.

What seven nights buys you is the thing every other itinerary is quietly short of — time.

🔹 LUXOR, properly. Karnak and Luxor Temple. The Valley of the Kings, where the pharaohs were buried in tombs cut into the rock. Hatshepsut's terraces at Deir el-Bahari, still carrying their original carving and colour. Not a highlights reel. The actual city.

🔹 EDFU — the Temple of Horus, the most completely preserved temple in Egypt. It spent centuries buried in silt, which sounds like a catastrophe and was in fact the best thing that ever happened to it. Roof intact. Inner chambers intact. 🦅

🔹 KOM OMBO — the only temple in Egypt built as a true double. Two entrances, two halls, two sanctuaries. One side for Sobek the crocodile god, one for Haroeris. Nobody had to share. 🐊

🔹 ASWAN — Philae, the temple of Isis on its island, and the High Dam that finally tamed a river that had flooded on its own schedule for five thousand years.

A Nile cruise ship carries 100 to 150 guests. A dahabiya carries 8 to 28. We cap ours at 16.
