This is a garden centre like no other in the area!! You will not believe what they have on offer here! A little diamond of garden centres... So many pots you will have trouble deciding which to buy, the plants are fabulous, so many varieties to choose from, both indoor and outdoor plants. They also have all the accessories you will ever need to adorn your walls and patios! Luckily we have plenty of room under the coach for all your purchases.

After all your plant / pot shopping we will take you to another diamond we have found... Restaurante Alingui Castillo... A wonderful setting with a castle view (castle is used for weddings and large events) the restaurant is in the grounds and has views of a small lake where you can watch the swans and ducks enjoying life. You will enjoy a delicious 3 course Menu del Dia (the menu is extensive) and then we will make our way back.

One of the most stunning fiestas of the year ……

The spectacular event of THE BATTLE recreates the events of the 2nd Punic War that took place more than 2,000 years ago for the conquest of the city by the Roman Legions of Scipio in 209 BC.

We will arrive around 2pm with the landing to take place at 5pm when the Roman ships enter the port of Cartagena simulating a naval attack. After this the battle will take place (approx 6pm) between the Romans and Carthaginians near the city walls with horses, swords, torches and sound effects recreating the Roman siege of the city. Once the battle is completed, there is a ceremony outside the Cartagena Town Hall...

The Valor Chocolate Museum, created in 1998, was recognized by the Generalitat Valenciana in 2008 as the Valencian Chocolate Museum.

In its day it was the small family factory, and you will be able to learn about the process of making chocolate and the entire history of Chocolates Valor from its birth to the present. You will view the factory floor and see all the chocolates. Finally you visit the shop, where you can buy all the products they make.

Just 200m down from the factory is the local market so you can browse around and get some bargains

MOJACAR NIGHT OF CANDLES !!
SATURDAY 19TH SEPTEMBER

One of the most mesmerising and stunning nights of the year is held in Mojacar…...The villagers decided to turn all the lights and electricity in the town off (except restaurants) and everyone wears the traditional white... so you can be seen in the dark!

Come and see the town lit by candlelight, the skies are so very clear on this night!!

Sit and have a drink, just meander amongst the shops or listen to the many sounds of musical instruments & enjoy the shows of dancers with fire!

Thats us on our way home from a fabulous day in Rojales and to finish, our Lunch in Quesada .

We started our day at the cave houses of rojales, we enjoyed an artisan markets with so many hand made goodies !! Beautiful artwork displayed in the cave houses themselves , with refreshments stops, honestly you could have spent the whole day wondering around, getting lost, and enjoying the atmosphere with a live band entertaining us all .
Then we took a wonder to the famous best kept secret, casa de las Conchas (shell House) ,

The shell house was designed and made by Don Manuel Fulleda Alcaraz. From the age of seven he collected large and small shells on the beaches of Guardamar del Segura and La Manga del Mar Menor. These shells now decorate the walls and patio of his house. The mosaics are very varied from circles and flowers to animals. In total there are 600 square meters of wall covered with around 550.000 shells.

It is a sight to behold.

Back to the cave houses for another look and a few purchases from incredibly talented market stall holders ...

Let's get back on the coach and go for our well deserved lunch !!

With a choice of Sunday roast or fish and chips, my goodness did we all have a good meal!!
Massive portions, excellent service, quality food, what more can you ask for?
