Could Valencia be the right place to live and work remotely? 🇪🇸☀️

I've spent years living in and around Valencia, including working remotely from the city, and I've seen a lot of changes over that time.

Valencia has a combination that's surprisingly hard to find: a beautiful Mediterranean setting, a real Spanish city rather than a resort town, excellent food, good public transport, beaches within easy reach, and a relatively relaxed lifestyle.

But it's not perfect.

Housing has become much more expensive, summers can be very hot, and finding the right neighbourhood can make a big difference to your experience.

While there's a growing community of remote workers and digital nomads, Valencia still feels much more like a Spanish city than a place built around foreigners working online.

That's actually one of the things I like most about it.

If you're visiting the Netherlands for the first time, there's one mistake I see many travellers make...

They only visit Amsterdam.

Don't get me wrong, Amsterdam is well worth visiting. But if that's the only place you see, you're missing out on a completely different side of the country.

Picture medieval towns, windmills, colourful markets, quiet canals, coastal villages, and long sandy beaches.

One of the best things about the Netherlands is how easy it is to explore. Most towns are just a short train ride from each other, making it easy to add somewhere new to your itinerary.

Some places exceed your expectations. 🌍

Bosnia and Herzegovina was one of those places for me.

I'll admit, before visiting, I didn't know much about the country. But after spending nearly a month based in Mostar, with shorter trips to explore other parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, I left wondering why more people don't have it on their travel list.

Mostar is famous for its beautiful Old Bridge. But what I loved most was the atmosphere. Sitting in a café overlooking the river, wandering through the old town in the evening, and learning more about the country's recent history made it a destination that felt very different from anywhere else I'd been.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is such a diverse country! Dramatic mountains, peaceful villages, welcoming people, and some surprisingly good food.

It's a great country for a road trip, and it's much more affordable than many other European destinations, which is a nice bonus.

It's one of those countries that doesn't make the typical "must-visit Europe" lists, but I genuinely think it deserves more attention.

People often talk about travel as if it's an escape from real life. ✈️

But the truth is... travel is real life.

Whether you're traveling for just a few weeks, moving abroad, or becoming a digital nomad, you still bring yourself with you.

The worries don't disappear overnight. You'll still have bad days, difficult decisions, and stressful moments.

But travel does give you something incredibly valuable.

It changes your perspective.

You learn that there are many different ways to live a happy life. You become more adaptable. More curious. More confident that you'll figure things out, even when things don't go according to plan.

That's why I don't think travel changes who you are.

I think it helps you discover parts of yourself that everyday life rarely asks you to use. ❤️
