- San Sebastián, Spain. So, we got a little carried away with the food photos, but after all, we made this stop to eat....San Sebastián is renowned for its number of Michelin-starred restaurants — in fact, the highest number of them per capita in the world, and Arzak is at the top of the list. Owner and chef Juan Mari Arzak (now working with daughter Elena) have become world renowned for updating traditional Basque cuisine. He is at the restaurant everyday to oversee his perfection and to meet his clients (including us!!!). A brush with greatness for sure!!! Thanks to Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown on CNN, for the unbelievable recommendation of this true dining "experience" and Ganbara Bar - Asador as well, where the pintxos and tapas were a sight (and taste) to behold.....
