- San Sebastián, Spain. So, we got a little carried away with the food photos, but after all, we made this stop to eat....San Sebastián is renowned for its number of Michelin-starred restaurants — in fact, the highest number of them per capita in the world, and Arzak is at the top of the list. Owner and chef Juan Mari Arzak (now working with daughter Elena) have become world renowned for updating traditional Basque cuisine. He is at the restaurant everyday to oversee his perfection and to meet his clients (including us!!!). A brush with greatness for sure!!! Thanks to Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown on CNN, for the unbelievable recommendation of this true dining "experience" and Ganbara Bar - Asador as well, where the pintxos and tapas were a sight (and taste) to behold.....

Last stop of our India adventure. It's been an exhausting and chaotic month. But, through all the trials and tribulations, at the end, I am sad to be leaving~we were just starting to figure things out-well, sort of....Next stop Sri Lanka 🇱🇰

Moving a little to the south and west, Raj drive us about 5 hours to Jaipur, Rajasthan. We visited
Amer Fort, aka Amber Fort, which is a four level palace in Amer, a city about 10 km away from Jaipur. Rajasthan is India's largest state and is famous as "the land of kings". Amer (or Amber) Fort was built in 1592 by Raja Man Singh and is made of yellow and pink sandstone and white marble. It was the residence of the Rajput Maharajas and their families.
-Jal Mahal "water palace," another Maharaja Palace, is in the city of Jaipur.
Rajasthan is know for its hand woven rugs and other textiles. Carpet weaving has become the major source of income for almost half of the population.

From Amsterdam to Delhi- quite a transition. Cold to hot, sort of calm to crazy and crowded. First stop in India, Agra - location of Taj Mahal. It's more beautiful and majestic than I imagined. Truthfully defies description. Taj is an ivory marble mausoleum commissioned in 1632 by Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan, to house the tomb of his "favorite wife" Mumtaz Mahal-
The "Red Fort" also in Agra, was the residence of the Mughal Emperor in 1648, Shah Jahan (same guy as Taj Mahal). It housed the emperors and their households. It is made of red sandstone, hence the name.

On to Germany for a week. We have visited Garmish-Partenkirchen many times (Keith's home for a couple years-many years ago). Beautiful Bavarian city just south of Munich.

Next stop, Jolly Olde England to meet up with the McCoys, our forever friends from the U.S. No trip to London is complete until Keith visits Harrod's Oyster bar. Sorry, no pictures of London Tower or Buckingham Palace this time. Too busy eating...

East Kilbride, Scotland was a blast from the past. Keith was able to
meet up with his mate Danny Carrigan and his lovely family. We spent a couple days reminiscing about the Garmish group, the "good old days" and creating "good new days."

Sligo is a beautiful city. Keith's ancestors are from this area (the other half are German-so that explains a lot 🍻). We were able to meet up with the "other Anita Conboy"(yep, there are two of us in the world)
