San Juan is a celebration held on the beach with bonfires. It is all about changes, night and day; fire and water. It is common to see people jumping over the bonfires which, according to legend, cleanses the body and the soul. Also, you can see people jump in the sea at midnight which is supposed to be a way to wash away evil spirits. Traditionally, the Spanish did not visit the beach until this day in each year.
