If you're looking for a lovely day out on the Costa Blanca before the summer heat really kicks in, Tabarca Island is a great choice 🌊

You can hop on a ferry or speedboat from Santa Pola or Alicante and head to Spain's smallest permanently inhabited island - with only around 50-60 people living there year-round.

Once there you can wander through the old streets, relax on the beach, enjoy lunch by the sea, or just sit and take in the amazing views.

If you love the water, Tabarca is surrounded by a protected marine reserve and the crystal-clear sea makes it one of the best spots in the area for snorkelling.

7 years ago today, we packed up our life in the UK 🇬🇧 and moved to Spain 🇪🇸

It was pre-Brexit, less than a year before Covid.

We sold our house, quit our jobs, and threw our then 8 year old into a Spanish school.

Some people gave us 6 months, but 7 years later, we're still here 😆

Has it always been easy? Not at all. Living abroad comes with challenges, frustrations, paperwork, and plenty of moments where you question your life choices.

But the positives have always outweighed the negatives for us - the lifestyle, the weather, the opportunities, the experiences, the people we've met, and the life we've built here have made it all worthwhile.

Here's to 7 years in Spain and, hopefully, many more to come. 🇪🇸❤️

Parque del Molino de Agua in Torrevieja is such a peaceful spot - a lovely walk through the pine trees 🌲 that leads you all the way down to La Mata beach ⛱️

Plenty of picnic benches tucked away in the shade, and a really calm and quiet setting all round.

Definitely one to explore if you’re nearby.
