Flamingo spotting on the Costa Blanca 🦩💗

The salt lakes in Calpe are one of the best places to see flamingos, and believe us - we've been to a lot of places locally trying to get close up 😆

There’s parking nearby, so you can take a walk along the path beside the lake. The mountain backdrop makes it such a great spot for a spotting flamingos and taking some great photos too.

Definitely one to add to your Costa Blanca list if you love nature and wildlife. 🦩

🌴🌵 A little oasis in the heart of Elche.

If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful to escape to, the Huerto del Cura Botanical Garden in Elche is well worth a visit.

You can wander through beautiful exotic plants, palm trees and cacti, with plenty of quiet corners to stop and take it all in. 🌺

There’s a small entrance fee, but it’s well worth it for such a tranquil and beautiful spot in the middle of the city.

This is a real hidden gem in Murcia city! 😍

If we hadn’t been told to visit the Real Casino de Murcia, we probably would have walked straight past it and never known what was inside!

The Casino dates back to 1847 and the building is absolutely stunning. From the beautiful architecture and painted ceilings to the chandeliers, furniture and incredible rooms, there’s so much to look at.

The Arabic Patio modelled after the Alhambra was probably one of our favourite parts, but every room has something different to see. It’s definitely very impressive!

You can visit the Real Casino daily from 10:30am to 7pm and entry is just €5, including an audioguide.

If you’re planning a visit to Murcia, definitely add this one to your list! 📍

Did you know this is in the Alicante Province?

This is the Santuario de Santa María Magdalena in Novelda.

Although it definitely has a Gaudí feel to it, it wasn’t actually designed by Gaudí - it was designed by local architect José Sala Sala, who was heavily influenced by Catalan Modernism, which explains the very Gaudí-esque look.

It was built between 1918 and 1946, and is packed with interesting little details, definitely worth seeing in person.

If you fancy exploring somewhere a little different and having a day away from the beach, add Novelda to your list!
