Colnago’s third-generation gravel bike has arrived 🇮🇹

Modern gravel riding can be fast and technical, and Colnago developed the G5-X around exactly that.

A longer wheelbase, slacker head angle and increased fork rake keep the bike composed and precise on technical descents. A new carbon layup balances compliance with responsiveness, and the frame clears tyres up to 53 mm. Integrated in-frame storage and six mounting points make it as suited to ultra-distance rides and loaded trips as to race day.

A transparent coloured finish on the bottom bracket also lets the carbon weave show through, revealing the structure of the frame under the paint!

Our Patagonia Lakes & Volcanoes tour crosses from Chile into Argentina through one of the most distinctive parts of Patagonia.

On the Chilean side, the route travels through volcanic country and dense rainforest, with Villarrica rising above Pucón and the Huilo Huilo reserve further south.

Across the border in Argentina, the landscape opens out around a chain of enormous Andean lakes and forested mountains. Our route brings both sides together, crossing the Andes on gravel.

There’s still time to join us on our women’s road cycling camp in Nice this October!

Over six days, we’ll ride some of the most storied roads in the sport, leaving straight from our newest hub Eat Sleep Cycle Nice Hub 🤩

That includes the Col d’Èze, long the setting for Paris-Nice’s final time trial, and La Madone, the climb above Menton that resident pros use to test their form. We’ll also take on the Col de Turini and the Col de Braus, along with the famous Corniche roads that wind along the cliffs between Nice and Monaco.

A single ride can take you from the palm-lined seafront to mountain passes above 1,600 metres, through a landscape that shifts from olive groves and perched villages to something much closer to high Alpine terrain.

Nice itself has a character all its own. The city belonged to the House of Savoy for most of five centuries, and you can still see that history in the old town, where street signs are written in both French and the local Niçois dialect - and on the table, where the cooking draws on Liguria as much as Provence.

Our local guides will lead the way, with full support on the road and a 4-star hotel in central Nice as our base. This week is a brilliant way to experience the very best the Maritime Alps have to offer, on and off the bike!

By the time the Andes reach Colombia, they have already run for thousands of kilometres along the western edge of South America. Dividing into three main ranges - the Cordillera Occidental, Central and Oriental - they are separated by the deep Cauca and Magdalena valleys.

And that geography creates some extraordinary riding. Roads climb out of cities and river valleys, pass through coffee-growing hillsides and cloud forest, and keep going until the vegetation, temperature and air itself are entirely different.

Colombia’s history and geography make it a brilliant, vivid place to ride a bike, and our tours around Medellín and Antioquia squeeze every bit of that character out of the region, on both road and gravel.

The ENVE Melee v2 🔥

Four years after the original, the second-generation Melee is lighter and more aerodynamic, with decidedly race-focused geometry.

In its Ultralight Black finish, a size 56 frame weighs under 800 g, and a complete size 56 SRAM RED build can reach the UCI minimum weight of 6.8 kg.

At the same time, ENVE reports a 17-watt aerodynamic improvement over the previous Melee - with 2.6 watts of that attributed to the new bottle cages. And, we’re delighted to see they still take standard round bottles too!

September in Provence, from the Gorges du Verdon to the top of Mont Ventoux.

Seven days through some of southern France’s best riding - quiet roads, epic limestone gorges, Provençal villages and a final day on the Giant of Provence.

Wilier’s new Filante has landed 👀

Sharing the aerodynamic development and racing geometry of the Filante SLR ID2, the Filante SL ID2 takes that race-focused platform and gives it a broader brief.

It comes with tyre clearance up to 34 mm, compatibility with 1x drivetrains and the UDH standard, plus the new fully integrated R-Bar cockpit with 3 cm of total flare at the drops.

Its aero development was carried out alongside Groupama-FDJ United, using CFD simulations and wind-tunnel testing at Silverstone, with Wilier considering the bike, rider and components as one complete system.

The character is still very much Filante, with the responsiveness and stability at speed to suit everything from everyday training to long days on the road.

The Gorges de la Méouge sit in the southern Hautes-Alpes, just north of Sisteron, where the Méouge river cuts through a dramatic stretch of limestone on its way towards Provence.

The gorge is known for its clear turquoise water, natural swimming pools and rocky cliffs, but there’s plenty of history here too. Its best-known landmark is the stone Pont Romain. Despite the name, the bridge is thought to date from the Middle Ages, with a mix of Romanesque and Gothic architecture.

Around 700 hectares of the gorge are now protected as part of the Natura 2000 network, home to a mix of Alpine and Mediterranean habitats and some rare species, including the southern barbel, marsh fritillary butterfly and the horseshoe bat!

It’s a landscape that sits somewhere between Alpine and Provençal, making for a pretty spectacular landscape to ride through.
