Discover Grazalema through its stories. Just 40 minutes drive from Ronda

I created my Grazalema GPS Audio Guide to give visitors a different way to explore the village — walking at their own pace while hearing the history, stories and local details connected to the places around them.

The tour takes you from Grazalema’s Moorish past through its streets, landmarks and lesser-noticed details, with GPS-triggered commentary so the stories play in the right places.

It can also be downloaded for offline use.

Thinking of exploring beyond Ronda?

The Sierra de Grazalema is an easy addition to a trip to Ronda — and it makes a great place to stay for a night or two if you want to experience the mountains at a slower pace.

There are white villages, dramatic limestone scenery, walking routes, mountain roads and some lovely hotels and rural places to stay.

We've just updated our guide to finding a hotel in the Sierra de Grazalema, with accommodation ideas for exploring this beautiful part of Andalucía.

Puente Nuevo & El Tajo Gorge — the landmark that defines Ronda

Few sights are more closely associated with Ronda than Puente Nuevo and the enormous El Tajo Gorge beneath it.

Our guide explores the history and engineering of the bridge, the gorge walk, the best viewpoints for photographs and some of the lesser-known stories surrounding this remarkable part of Ronda.

Plaza de Toros Ronda — one of Spain's most historic bullrings

The Plaza de Toros is one of Ronda's defining landmarks and an important part of the city's history and traditions.

Built in the 18th century, this remarkable stone bullring is home to the Real Maestranza de Caballería de Ronda and has a fascinating connection with Pedro Romero and the Feria Goyesca.

Our guide looks at the history and architecture of the bullring, the Museo Taurino and what visitors can see when they explore this unique part of Ronda.

The Plaza de Toros (bullring) in Ronda whilst not the oldest in Spain is definitely the oldest bullring constructed entirely of stone.

Grazalema is more than a pretty white village.

Set high in the Sierra de Cádiz, Grazalema sits right in the middle of one of Andalucía's most spectacular mountain landscapes.

The village itself is worth exploring, but the real attraction is how easily you can step beyond it.

Take the mountain roads over Puerto del Boyar and Puerto de las Palomas, discover the rare Pinsapar forests, explore the surrounding walking routes or make the drive to Zahara de la Sierra.

And don't leave without trying some of the excellent local Payoyo cheese.

We've just updated our complete guide to Grazalema, with practical information on what to see, where to go, when to visit and how to make the most of the surrounding Sierra.

Driving to Ronda? Read this before you follow your GPS.

Vehicle access around Puente Nuevo and parts of Ronda's historic centre is restricted, with automatic cameras enforcing the rules.

For most visitors arriving by car, the safest option is simple: use the ring road, park outside the restricted area and walk into the centre.

We've updated our guide with the latest information, including what hotel guests need to do if they are staying inside the restricted zone.
