Went hiking on the mountain above Agaete again this afternoon. When we hit the ridge this time, the wind was so fierce it was blowing us all around! We powered on for a few minutes, then I said "screw it, it's not like I'm hiking for my survival in the arctic. I'm turning around!" I don't hike for the adrenaline rush, lol, and I had no desire to have the wind push me right off the cliff face 😱. We walked back a bit and found a side road to explore instead.
Following the side road took us around the ocean side of the ridge and over to an abandoned house. Ridiculously remote but a kickass view over mountain and water. Had lunch with a view and then hiked back the way we came. All told, it ended up being a 5.6 mile out and back with a 2,060-ft elevation gain.
