Up to then, locals such as me used to hang out by night in a bar located over the remains, whose red facade still stands behind the stage, on the left, with an oval window. Change is afoot - hopefully short term pain only

Very important information for people travelling from 12th October onwards. The new EES (Entry/Exit system) is coming into effect with immediate effect. There is very little official information available at this time but we have it on very good authority from the senior management of Murcia Airport and also the National police that the roll out of the new passport control system begins on Sunday at both Murcia and Alicante airports. It will not affect every flight initially as the introduction will be a gradual process between the 12th and 27th October the but crucially it will affect passengers both arriving and departing the airport.

It is inevitable that there will be significant delays and we do not know which flights will be selected on any given day. We have taken the decision that all departing passengers will arrive 3 hours before their flight to avoid the risk of missing their flights. We will contact every passenger the day before travel and ask everyone to assist us with their understanding and timely confirmations of the time changes. Initially we will modify times on a day to day basis until we establish the real time implications involved in the process.

Similarly arriving passengers are likely to be faced with longer wait times and again we request patience, this is an unprecedented event and we will have to adapt accordingly.
