🏖 The Las Canteras beach in Las Palmas is unique! It's easy to reach from any part of the city; it's clean and it's safe. The mid sections is protected by a reef( you can clearly see on the photo), which you can swim out to at low tide. There is a paved promenade along the length of the beach.
The stunning Auditorio is situated at one end of the beach adjacent to Las Arenas shopping centre; the reef does not extend this far down and therefore this part of the beach is popular with surfers. Tapa bars and restaurants are plentiful along the length of the beach right up to where the sand stops. The promenade however continues along the flights and right out on the the headland of la Isleta. Swimming here is not advised however at low tide rock pools form so it's possible to take dips and stay cool. The entire walk is probably about 5km and well worth the effort!
