Works on the new pasarela (walkway), along the Barbaña river, are continuing at full speed, including the restoration of the old medieval bridge, Ponte dos Pelamios, seen in this reel.

The bridge was devastated by a flood of the Barbaña, as a result of the storm triggered on the night of Saturday, July 14, 1945

The new pasarela will link the Camino de Santiago pilgrim route through Ourense from Seixalbo with the old Roman bridge, Miño River and beyond to Santiago de Compostela

Os Peares, East of Ourense and the gateway to Cañon de Sil and the province of Lugo. The small village located on the confluence of the Miño, Sil and Búbal rivers was once a thriving community when the hydroelectric dam just above the village was built. Now a tourist attraction the village is regenerating with the return of the train between Ourense, Monforte de Lemos and beyond! Come and visit, by train or better by bike!
