Today we installed a Starlink internet system at Casa Eilmar. We will run it on trial for four months alongside the existing system to ensure that there are no glitches. The existing system is supposed to be a high speed fibre optic system but we believe that there must be a big lump of copper in the line somewhere. Today, the new system has a download speed of just under 15 times better than the old system. Hopefully it will stay that way. We are always trying to improve the experience for our Guests. OK. Small dilemma to resolve. When a weighing scales was bought for Casa Eilmar, it mysteriously went missing a week later. It was found weeks later hidden in the cleaners cupboard. Now there is a push to remove the cross trainer. Not as easy to hide. The thinking is that people on holiday do not want to see exercise equipment or weighing scales. Interesting to see what others think before it is removed?? By the way it is superb for drying laundry.

Due to the constant sunshine, whirlpool bath covers do not last for more than 3 or 4 years. Our cover went downhill really fast over that last number of weeks. Thanks our friends in Aquadreams a replacement was fitted this morning.

We just fitted a new heavy duty BBQ at Casa Eilmar. The last one was nowhere near as strong. Hopefully we will get a few years out of this one.

A big shout out to our friends in Airefresco who put in a tough day today installing the air conditioning.
This will keep guests warm on those winter evenings and cool in the height of summer.
Both bedrooms are now completed, the ac for the main living room will follow in three weeks when it arrives on the island.

An extremely busy two weeks over the Christmas period here at the villa. There was a leak in the pool (again) in the run up to Christmas. The decision was made to tackle it full on this time and bite the bullet. The pool was fully drained, the fiberglass extensively repaired to fully seal all the jets and skimmers, a new coat of pool paint applied and two tankers of water to fill it back up again. While we were at it, we decided to replace the pool heater with a new energy efficient one with an electronic controller to ensure that the pool temperature is maintained at a steady 28 degrees at all times. We hope that this improves the Guest experience.
