አዲስ አበባ፣ ህዳር 18፣ 2012 (ኤፍ.ቢ.ሲ) ኢትዮጵያ የተባበሩት መንግስታት ድርጅት የሳይንስ፣ የትምህርትና ባህል ማዕከል (ዩኔስኮ) የዓለምአቀፍ የቅርስ ኮሚቴ አባል ሆና ተመረጠች።

በፈረንሳይ የኢትዮጵያ ኤምባሲ እንዳስታወቀው፥ ኢትዮጵያ ለሚቀጥሉት 4 ዓመታት የዓለምአቀፍ የቅርስ ኮሚቴ አባል ሆና ተመርጣለች።

ኢትዮጵያ በተመሳሳይ ወቅት የዩኔስኮ ስራ አስፈፃሚ ቦርድና የዓለምአቀፍ ቅርስ ኮሚቴ አባል ሆና እንደምታገለግልም ነው ኤምባሲው ያስታወቀው።

ኢትዮጵያ የዩኔስኮ የዓለምአቀፍ የቅርስ ኮሚቴ አባል እንድትሆን ለመረጡ ሀገራትም ምስጋናውን አቅርቧል።

የዩኔስኮ የዓለምአቀፍ የቅርስ ኮሚቴ የ21 ሀገራት ተወካዮችን በውስጡ የያዘ ሲሆን፥ የኮሚቴው አባል ሀገራትም በዩኔስኮ ጠቅላላ ጉባዔ የሚመረጡ ናቸው።

ኮሚቴው ዓለም አቀፍ የቅርስ ጥበቃ ስምምነቶች በስራ ላይ እንዲውሉ የማድረግ ኃላፊነት ያለው ሲሆን፥ ከዚህ በተጨማሪም ዓለም አቀፍ የቅርስ ፈንድ አስፈላጊነትን የሚያብራራ እና በሀገራት ጥያቄ ላይ ተመስርቶም የገንዘብ ድጋፍ የሚያመቻች መሆኑንም ከዩኔስኮ የተገኘ መረጃ ያመለክታል።

በተጨማሪም ኮሚቴው ቅርሶች የተባበሩት መንግስታት ድርጅት የሳይንስ፣ የትምህርትና ባህል ማዕከል (ዩኔስኮ) መዝገብ ላይ እንዲሰፍሩ እና ቅርሶቹ አደጋ ላይ ሲወድቁም እንዲሰረዙ የማድረግ ሙሉ ስልዕጣን ያለው ነው።
