Somaliland officially opened its embassy in Jerusalem on June 15, 2026, during the state visit of Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi. The inauguration was attended by Gideon Sa'ar.

The opening followed Israel's recognition of Somaliland in late 2025 and marks a significant step in their diplomatic relationship. Somaliland has held multiple elections over more than three decades.
