We are incredibly inspired by the spirit of the Kembata people and their dedication to transforming Mount Hambaricho into a world class destination.
And now We are thrilled to announce that our next destination is officially the Kembata Zone, a place that has become a second home to us.
Our journey with this community began five years ago. From that very first visit, we felt such a deep connection to the land and the people that we made it our home for the following three years.
About six years ago, the local community hand constructed the first 777 stairs to the summit. Proving their relentless drive, they have doubled that impact this year by completing another 777 stairs, creating a monumental path of over 1,500 steps that honors their heritage and their future.

One of our proudest milestones was being the first group to ever camp on Mount Hambaricho during the rainy season. Even in the mist and challenging weather, the local community rallied around us, providing incredible support and making sure we were safe and cared for every night.
As we prepare to hike and camp on this majestic peak once again, three things define this region.
Community Led Tourism: The local people have a profound awareness of sustainable travel, ensuring progress benefits the entire community.
Unmatched Hospitality: Having lived there for three years, we can personally attest that the warmth of the Kembata people is second to none.
Safety & Peace: It remains one of the safest and most serene places to explore, offering a genuine escape into the heart of nature.
Mount Hambaricho is a testament to what can be achieved when a community takes ownership of its narrative. We can’t wait to conquer these 1,554 steps and experience the “Roof of Kembata” together once more!
