The Ari tribe is an indigenous group located in the Omo Valley of Ethiopia 🇪🇹, known for their large population and agricultural practices.

They are considered the largest ethnic group in the Omo Valley and live in the highlands around Jinka.

The Ari people are known for their fertile lands, diverse agriculture, and unique cultural practices, including pottery and metal work.

Church of Saint George, Lalibela

It's known for its distinctive rock-cut churches dating from the 12th and 13th centuries, which are pilgrimage sites for Coptic Christians. Carved out of rock, the subterranean monoliths include huge Bete Medhane Alem, and cross-shaped Bete Giyorgis. Many are joined by tunnels and trenches, and some have carved bas-reliefs and colored frescoes inside.

Lalibela is located in the North Wollo Zone of the Amhara Region, at roughly 2,500 metres (8,200 ft) above sea level. It is the main town in Lasta woreda, which was formerly part of Bugna woreda. The Rock-Hewn Churches were declared a World Heritage site in 1978 .
