Reindeer don’t disappear when the snow melts.

Most people only ever see them in winter, which means they miss this. In summer the farms are quieter, the herders have more time, and the reindeer are calm and curious. This photo says it better than we can.

We work with families who have been herding reindeer for generations. A visit with them is unhurried and personal. You end up around a fire with a warm drink, hearing about the reindeer, their annual cycle, and what life here has looked like for generations.

Send this to someone you think would love it.

Believe it or not, this picture was taken in the middle of the night!
We’ve been based in Rovaniemi for years and we still check the time when this happens. In a few weeks the sun just stops setting and we genuinely mean that. It’s light like this at midnight, at 2am, at 4am. You stop caring what time it is and just... stay out.
At 10pm, at midnight, at 2am, you can do exactly what you’d do at 2 in the afternoon. Go for a hike, sit outside, swim in the lake. There’s something genuinely freeing about a day that just doesn’t end.
Save this post if you’re thinking about a Lapland summer. 📸 :

When you picture Lapland, you probably picture snow.
This nice trail is one of the spots we take our travellers to in spring, just a few minutes from Rovaniemi. You don’t have to go far to feel like you have the whole forest to yourself, it’s genuinely quiet out here at this time of year.
If you’ve only ever thought of Lapland as a winter destination, you’re missing out!

Save this for when you’re planning your next trip, or send it to someone you’d want to spend a day like that with.

In Finland, today is Mother’s Day. A good reminder that the best gifts are made of moments, not things.

We know travelling with a young child takes a different kind of planning - the right activities, the right places genuinely set up for families, and a pace that works for everyone. That’s the part we take care of, so that all you’re left with is memories like this one.

Your child’s first Lapland winter might just become your favorite trip as a parent too. If that’s the kind of memory you’d like to create, we know how to make it happen.

Send this to the mum in your life who’d love a trip like this.

These three will be pulling sleds next winter, but right now they’re still figuring out the world!

With the season over, this is when kennels are at their best. The mushers have time, the dogs are relaxed, and a visit feels nothing like a tourist activity. It’s more like spending a morning with a family who happen to have 40 huskies.

The musher shows you around, introduces you to the dogs, and at some point you’ll stop feeling like a guest. If that sounds good to you, we know the right people to make that happen!

Save this post if you’re building a Lapland trip for summer or autumn, or send it to someone who’d want to be exactly where these puppies are right now.

Today Finland is celebrating Vappu, the biggest day of the year.

Across the country people are heading to the parks with balloons, sima and student hats, and it’s genuinely a lot of fun. But here in Rovaniemi, one of the things we really love about this day is the quiet that settles in after a very busy winter.

This year the snow melted a bit earlier than usual, so the forests are already green and the river is fully moving. This is a beautiful side of Lapland that most people miss simply because they only ever think to come in winter.

Share this with someone who could use a quiet break in nature.

April is prime time for high-fell hikes. The days are long and bright, the snowpack firm enough for easy footing, and views stretch across endless white and blue. Climb gentle peaks like Ounasvaara or venture farther to Pallas-Yllästunturi for Arctic panoramas without deep-winter cold. A perfect mix of winter scenery and spring light.

Long days, calm waters, and the quiet rhythm of summer in the North.
Paddling through untouched nature, where time slows down and every moment feels effortless.

April is when Lapland’s frozen rivers wake from winter. Ice cracks, water rushes, and a soft roar fills the still air nature’s quiet drama in real time.
This is the perfect month to explore riverbanks on foot or by guided boat where channels have opened. Watch delicate ice sculptures drift downstream, catch reflections of golden spring light, and feel the Arctic shifting from silence to movement.
It’s more than sightseeing it’s the sound of Lapland changing seasons.
