Seinäjoen Aalto-keskus on nyt askeleen lähempänä Unesco-statusta!
Asiantuntijajärjestö ICOMOS suosittaa Suomen 13 Aalto-kohteesta muodostuvan esityksen nimeämistä maailmanperintöluetteloon. Unesco-komitea kokoontuu päättämään asiasta heinäkuun lopussa Etelä-Koreassa. Tuolloin selviää, onko Seinäjoella arvokas, modernin arkkitehtuurin maailmanperintökohde!

Seinäjoki Civic Centre is one step closer to UNESCO World Heritage status.
ICOMOS, the advisory body to UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee, has recommended the inscription of Aalto Works on the World Heritage List.
The final decision will be made by the World Heritage Committee at its meeting in Busan, South Korea, on 19–29 July 2026.
Aalto Works is a serial nomination comprising 13 sites across Finland that showcase the architectural legacy of Alvar Aalto and his profound influence on modern architecture.
Together, the Aalto Works sites demonstrate an approach to architecture that has influenced both the international Modern Movement and the development of the Finnish welfare state.
In Seinäjoki, we are very delighted by this recommendation and look forward to the Committee´s decision in July 2026.
