July in Bordeaux!

July is packed with events in Bordeaux and the region, so I just updated my monthly list with festivals, concerts, markets, outdoor cinema nights, wine events, family activities, and much more.

Here are three events I'm particularly excited about this month:

🎨 Festival Confluent d’Arts (Fronsac)
A lovely arts festival bringing together artists, exhibitions, performances, and workshops in a beautiful vineyard setting.

🎶 Les Escapades Musicales (Arcachon Bay)
One of my favorite summer festivals, with classical music concerts taking place in some of the most beautiful locations around Arcachon Bay.

☀️ Bordeaux Métropole Summer (all over Bordeaux Métropole)
Hundreds of free activities throughout the summer, including outdoor cinema, sports, concerts, family events, and cultural activities across the city and surrounding towns.

Day trips from Bordeaux series – #2 📍 Cadillac

After the great response to my first day trip post, here’s the second destination in the series and this time we’re heading to Cadillac.

This small medieval town on the banks of the Garonne has one of the best markets in the region, an impressive château, wine activities, and beautiful nearby villages worth exploring.

What makes the château especially interesting is that it served as a women’s prison from the French Revolution until 1950. Today, you can still visit some of the old prison cells and learn more about this surprising chapter of its history.

It’s the kind of place that’s easy to miss, but totally worth the detour from Bordeaux.

Visiting wineries is always a great idea, but drinking wine at a guinguette surrounded by vineyards is a whole different level of summer atmosphere 🍇
