At Bordeaux: Tours & Wine we specialise in creating bespoke wine itineraries throughout the region. But when a couple contacts you and says they will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary, you know it’s going to be a very special occasion ✨

This wonderful 🇺🇸 couple chose Bordeaux: Tours & Wine to create a unique wine tour worthy of such an important milestone.

Their day included private visits to three Classified Growth châteaux, tailored wine tastings and exceptional food and wine pairings. And of course, we had to include a bottle from their anniversary vintage 🍾

Wine and chocolate pairing on a private tour 🍫🍷

One of my favourite moments as a tour guide and Sommelier, is seeing my guests being surprised during a wine tour.

Although most of the details are transmitted and they know almost everything of the itinerary of the day… I prefer to keep some surprises 🤫😉

The chocolate and wine pairing is a favourite of mine. First, they start tasting the wine and appreciating its unique aromas, style and vintage. Necessary to understand the essenceAnd then, the chocolate comes in to pair it beautifully ♥️

Bordeaux, the perfect city for a sweet tooth ♥️😍

You’ve travelled to Bordeaux, the city of wine 🍷
You’ve probably already done a wine tour, in Médoc or Saint-Émilion 🍇

Or maybe you don’t like nor drink wine…
But you love sweet things.

Let me tell you something, Bordeaux is also paradise for a sweet tooth.
If you enjoy trying local specialties, unique pastries and typical French ones, then this is your city.

During my city walking tours (small groups and private ones) I share local recommendations with my clients.
Of course, also the hidden gems where us, locals go to 😉.

This international group 🇺🇸🇵🇪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 had already tried the famous canelé, the wine and the popular entrecôt 🥩but not the Dunes Blanches 🤍 so we finished the tour with a sweet note. Thank you to for treating us 😍

Saint-Émilion - Portes Ouvertes 2026 🍇🍷

May 1st to 3rd:
110 Châteaux in Saint-Émilion welcomed visitors from all over the world 🍃

It was a good challenge to try and visit them all, but as you can imagine… I wasn’t able to 🥹

Jokes aside, the high season has already started at Bordeaux: Tours & Wine, and between private tours, I was still able to squeeze a few visits and tastings🍷

Discovered new properties, tasted new releases, bought some En Primeurs (oops 🥹) and talked to the winemakers.

Great way to spend the first weekend of May.

If you are already planning your trip to Bordeaux in 2027,
I’d highly recommend that you come during the weekend that the Portes Ouvertes takes place.

🍷 Free tastings ✅
🚶🏻‍♂️Visit of the property included (usually a shorter version) ✅

Labour Day in Bordeaux 📍⚠️

May 1st, 2026 means no rides, no trams, no boats ❌

All drivers from TBM (Transports Bordeaux Métropole) are off for Labour Day. This means that the entire network is at a standstill in Bordeaux.

🚊 No tramways
🚌 No buses
⛴️ No Bat3 river shuttles

Yes, believe it or not, a lot of people get caught off guard thinking it runs like a Sunday schedule. But exceptions exist, and Labour Day is one of them here.

My personal advice as a local guide 🙋🏽‍♀️

🚗 Take an Uber or taxi
🛵 Rent a scooter or Dott
🚲 Use TBM bikes
