So I did say there would be more photos to come! As you can see we have extended the drought proof border the entire length of the garden and round into the gite garden. This has been a job and a half…. It was densely covered with ivy and ground creepers when we got here and trees planted literally side by side the entire way along. It took a lot of time and effort to clear that out and cut down dead trees, not to mention the roots. It’s now fully covered with a w**d membrane, bordered and filled in with sustainable bark from our own garden. We dug out the lawn and have spread new grass seed. We also now have a new dry river bed of stones along the length of the gîte garden making it much lighter and brighter. Finished off with new pots of oleander and a mirror, BBQ had a spruce up and the toy box has been moved. One bit of the garden looking half decent for now at least! 😊
