We were able to skate tonight in the World’s Largest Indoor Skating Rink. Great fun. Brought my own skates. I am a rental skate snob. It was fun and I am so happy we did this. It was also super crowded. It was the most multi-cultural open skate I have ever been too. Loved it.

Pre-Christmas photos. We have spent the last two days enjoying the season and each others company.
So, here are the photos from Amiens and Rouen, France just before Christmas. We went to two more Christmas Markets, saw some sites and ate very well.

Took a little weekend trip to Saint Quentin, Aimens and Rouen.
We attended three Christmas Markets, saw three cathedrals, and had the most wonderful family time. Great to make new memories.

This post covers our quick evening in Saint Quentin.

Enjoyed our day at Disneyland Paris on Thursday.
It is a smaller park and very easy to get around. A few less parks then California or Florida.

It is much more affordable than the Disney properties in the US.

You can get there by train or hire a ride. About 45-60 minutes outside of Paris.

Get the Ultimate Access which is the equivalent of a Fast Pass. We calculated that it saved us about 5+ hours waiting in line.

Went on many rides and realized that there are rides we can no longer handle. Still many we could but it was a new reveal.

Wednesday was a busy day. We are getting our steps in for sure.
Started off at Notre Dame to see the renovations and just enjoy the space. So much brighter. It’s still a wonder.

Off to Notre Dame Noel Marche. Small but well done.

Lunch at “Hanoi 1988”. Excellent Vietnamese food just up from Notre Dame. It was delicious. It was packed when we got there and line down the walk when we left.
Highly recommend.

Stopped at two record stores and picked up some vinyl.

Secured Lobster Rolls from Homer Lobster - Marais. Recently voted best lobster roll in the world.
They were solid and staff super friendly.

Finished the night at La cave du 38 Riv'-Jazz club. Wonderful intimate location with friendly staff and an excellent night of music.

Holiday lights tour on the Toot Bus last night. Saw some good lights. It’s a way to see some of the sights at night during the Christmas holidays but it falls short on seeing a lot of lights. On board audio is one big commercial for all the stores they pass interspersed with holiday music. It was very nice to spend time with Lynn so that was a big plus. And the Italian couple who had to run for the bus when it pulled away after they got off at the Eiffel Tower for a photo. Great entertainment.

Catching up. Another great day in Paris yesterday. Some shopping in preparation for the holidays. A great meal at Au Pied de Cochon and the a “Swiss” Christmas Market in the evening at La Villette Noel.

Day 2. Lynn Schriml had not experienced The Palace at Versailles. Excited to go again.

Really enjoyed the Bourse de Commerce Museum.

The former stock exchange has been renovated and houses the collection of billionaire François Pinault.

(From website) The Bourse de Commerce—Pinault Collection is embracing the colours of the summer season with clinamen, an aquatic and musical installation by Céleste Boursier-Mougenot. This immersive project transforms the Rotunda into reverie space in which a basin 18 meters in diameter filled with water reflects the sky seen through the museum’s dome. White ceramic bowls float across this blue surface, generating melodious, enchanting sounds as a light current pushes them along.

This exhibit gets a lot Instgram exposure and we thought it lived up to it. Lots of other people agree. Enjoyed thoroughly.

So behind on the photos.

Started the day by Canadian Embassy.

Followed by our day at the Musée du Louvre and surrounding area.
We were here to see the Napoleon III apartments.
Very cool collaboration with the fashion industry as iconic clothing that was inspired by the Louvre and this recreated apartments was displayed together.

We went up the Ferris wheel nearby for great views of Paris. I think they missed a great marketing opportunity by not calling it the Paris-wheel.
