This essence of Paris comes alive in the paintings of Bilal Hamdad, a young artist brilliantly exhibited at the Petit Palais among masterpieces of the 18th and 19th century.

This summer in Avignon, we encountered an extraordinary project by one of Laura’s favorite artists: Jean-Michel Othoniel. The French sculptor produced and installed 260 works across 10 historic sites in the city, turning Avignon into a vast open-air exhibition. For those who know Paris, Othoniel is the artist behind the iconic entrance of the Palais Royal metro — a daily joy to step out beneath his shimmering glass beads. His practice elevates glass, a material both fragile and eternal, into monumental forms that play with light, space, and memory. Far beyond a traditional exhibition, these works transform the city into a poetic landscape of discovery.
