You can come by yourself for one of our wellbeing retreats (yoga, pilates, cooking, wine, writing, creative…), organise a retreat to your students, enjoy a private retreat with a group of friends (we have fab instructors i

n our network for you to choose from!), rent the property for holidays with friends and/or family, bring your team for work&pleasure or remote office, invite your business clients to a special treat, organise a wedding, anniversary or bachelor party, and so on… We think imagination would most likely be the only limit! Let us help you make dreams come true and create memories that will last for a lifetime.

The Happy Hamlet est situé dans la campagne jolie et ensoleillée du sud-ouest de la France. Une région étonnante, idéale pour beaucoup d’occasions diverses, privées ou professionnelles. Laissez-nous vous aider à réaliser vos rêves et contribuer à vous créer des souvenirs qui dureront toute une vie. Vous pouvez venir seul pour l’une de nos retraites de bien-être (yoga, pilates, cuisine, vin, écriture, création…), organiser une retraite pour vos élèves, profiter d’une retraite privée avec un groupe d’amis (nous avons des instructeurs fabuleux dans notre réseau parmi lequel vous pouvez choisir !), louer la propriété pour des vacances entre amis et/ou en famille, amener votre équipe pour le travail et le plaisir ou un bureau à distance, inviter vos clients d’affaires pour un événement spécial, organiser un mariage, un anniversaire ou un enterrement de vie de garçon ou jeune fille, et ainsi de suite… Votre imagination est notre seule limite !

It’s the little things.. that mean an awful lot ❤️

And it’s rather ironic to find yourself wordless after a writing retreat.

It was the first genuine smile in the morning and the gentle thankyous throughout the days, the deep discussions and tears of emotion, the silly jokes and contagious laughter.. It was what life should be. And it was a warm reminder of how much good there still is in this (sometimes screwed-up seeming) world 💚

So much in so few days. So many precious moments that we keep in our 💕s forever.

Thank you sweetest , time and again. Merci ma belle for e v e r y t h i n g. Merci all dear writers for being that important reminder of human kindness - and for making the Hamlet yet a happier one! 😍🙏😘

They’ve only been here for one full day but oh my the amount of LAUGH & LOVELY moments we’ve already shared 😍😍 Sweet reunion with dearest Susan (still and always so grateful for that one easter yoga retreat way back then that made our paths cross! 💕) and other dear returning guests - as well as many absolutely fabulous new acquaintances. Heatwave or not (would prefer latter but it is what it is 🥵) the Hamlet is SUPER HAPPY(doggies included!) to have these beautiful souls ”chez nous” 🫶🫶🫶

When a girl meets a boy.. 🫶 Magic can happen! 💫 And it certainly did so for this beautiful couple! 💖

Honored and humbled that a celebration this important was brought to the Hamlet - a wedding with such an international crowd, a sweet and warm ambiance, and so much laughter, that although we always didn’t know what the reason was (we were, after all, on duty), the bursts of laughter got us giggling, too! 😄 And it didn’t matter that the sun played hide and seek all day, because the Hamlet was filled with love and light and tons of shiny sparkles! 💛🌟✨

We were lucky enough to meet Perrine & Dan several times over more than a year. We got to know them and their vision, and we enjoyed their company everytime we met (which is why it almost feels a bit bittersweet that it is now all over 🥹). We’ll cherish all the precious memories and we wish you nothing but the best as Mrs & Mr 💕💕

Thank you both (and the whole wonderful crowd of guests!) for everything - for all the good vibes, for all the emotional moments, for all the tears of happiness, and for all the good fun that was had in the Hamlet. You two are 💎💎!!

💕💕💕 This!!! Doesn’t happen every day! 😍

In just a few hours the Hamlet switched from the yoga retreat ”zenitude” into a party like no other. The 60th (!!!) wedding anniversary of our besties and dear dear neighbors, Christiane & Michel! ❤️❤️

Sooooo much warmth and joy, tears of happiness and emotions - we are so delighted that we were able to let 3 generations of family and friends for many decades get together for this amazing milestone in the Hamlet! And thrilled to participate in the celebration ourselves! 🥳🥳

🙌 And it happened again! The Hamlet magic! 💫

New week, new guests and new friends of the Hamlet. How special it feels and how thankful we are, that even if we welcome strangers (this week all newcomers and all the way from NY state!), we are time and again surrounded by beautiful smiles, kind-hearted and easy-going people that radiate goodness all around 💚💚💚

The Hamlet was certainly born under quite a few lucky stars! 🍀✨

💕 SO PRECIOUS! 💕

We celebrated the 5th (!!) edition of a retreat with .sellier and her Parisian yogis last weekend. Moments filled with love, laughter and lots of beautiful energy 💫

We’re extremely thankful, humbled and honored, that our little hideaway in the middle of nowhere has become such an important place to these wonderful women, that they make they’re (long) way to us each year. Just how sweet it feels at their arrival when it’s like dear friends arriving at their home away from home 💚💚💚

Still out of words, but we do love you all to the moon and back - hope each and everyone of you knows (and feels) it! 🫶🫶🫶

If you host a wedding you must be up for many sort of tasks - such as a blind wine tasting with the soon to be married in order to help them choose the perfect wine for their Very Important Day/Dinner 😉 One could say ”it’s a tough job but someone’s got to do it” 😅 (but please note that the glasses were very small and the bottles not even close to emptied!)

Thanks so much & Dan for a lovely sunny Friday afternoon, excited to hear which one of the last two finalists wins the game! And we’re eagerly looking forward to your big day! 🥰

20 days. 4 groups. 32 guests. 127 overnight stays. 378 meals (portions) cooked and served. Felt like a marathon 😅 A BIG GLASS of champagne, well deserved! 🥂🥂

We knew it was a risky stretch for a tiny team like ours, but here we are, alive and kicking, just after hugging our guests of the week at "au revoirs" 💚

If the world today (with all its absurdity) can be somewhat overwhelming, it is even more so precious to be reminded of all the GOOD there still is -- and will be. We're grateful for the privilege to welcome people from all over the world into our home, strangers (and old friends!) who day after day and week after week showcase the beauty of human existence. The smiles, the warmth, the gentleness, the giggles, the attention to each other, the joy to be with one another, and the respect for each other.. This all warms our hearts more than you can imagine! 🥰🥰🥰

In the past month we've hosted a business remote week, a family get-together for 40th & 80th anniversary, two retreats and a friends' spring holiday - all very different, but in the end the same: Sharing special time together, disconnecting to reconnect. MERCI MILLE each and all of you for bringing your beautiful energy to the Hamlet! 🙏🙏

And a special THANK YOU for Anna, our extraordinary helping hands, without whom we would not have been able to pull this through! 😘😘

💫 2 x SOLD OUT WRITING RETREAT! AGAIN!! (btw for non-Finnish speakers the t-shirt in the first pic says ”this is what happiness is” 😍)

Little did we know when we first were introduced to , this ”Femme Fabuleuse”, in 2018 (sometimes I have to pinch myself to make sure it’s real 🤭)!

It was ❤️ at first sight (I want to believe both ways ☺️), and ever since the Hamlet has been humbled and honored to host her writing retreats over and again. We may have missed the milestone of our 10th anniversary (or maybe it’s this summer?), but who counts and who cares - most importantly, every single time she arrives tears of happiness are shed (and even more so at ”au revoirs”) 😭

It is not all that simple to find soulmates at adult age, but when you do, you cherish them as if you’ve been connected for your whole lifetime 🥰

Equally moving is the fact that the writing retreats (like many others) create bonds among our guests that last beyond the retreat. Strangers make friends, writers support another writer, they meet up to chat or even organise writing get-togethers back home, and they celebrate each others’ successes (in life or writing or both). And so many of them return! 🥳 THIS is something we could not have created ourselves, but it is thanks to this fairy-like human being, and an amazing author, who just sprinkles her magic around whenever here (surely does the same anywhere she goes!) ✨🍀💕

There are tons of laughs in the photos, but don’t be misled, these weeks go deep down in the whole spectrum of emotions. Which is why they are so special. Thankful for all the past and excited already about the future get-togethers! 🤩

And as often before, next July’s version will enjoy the company of another Very Special Person to the Hamlet, as dear will take over the ”cuisine” for the pleasure of our guests (and ours as well, bien sûr)! 😍😍

Cannot wait to see & hug (no wait, squeeze!) & kiss you both! A big bisous also to all the past participants - and a huge welcome to the guests this season! 💚💚💚

(PS. we haven’t set dates for 2026 yet, but once we do, make sure you come - promise you won’t regret it!)

Our Story

Centuries ago this farm-hamlet on the sunny southwestern French countryside was a home for several families. Today, we're very fortunate to call this special hideaway our home, and even more so lucky to be able to share it with so many wonderful people from all around the world. Whether it’s retreats, private holidays or business events that bring you to the Hamlet, we’re happy to have you participate in our journey!

The charming old stone houses form the core of the property surrounded by over 30 acres of our own land and wild nature - prairies, woods, valleys, natural springs and a bamboo forest. Our Guest House has five beautifully renovated and very spacious bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. The huge barn (that served for organic goat cheese production before us) has been transformed into a multifunctional space, with an open space kitchen perfect for cooking together, a lounge, a dining area and a large platform suitable for any activities. There's a natural swimming pool to dip into, and a sauna in a barrel to relax and enjoy the views - either to the endless greenery or the amazingly starry sky...

For anyone into life's simplest things, gorgeous nature, good local food & wine, tranquil ambiance and the French joy of life, we're glad to offer a special place where to nourish your well-being. Retreats run on various themes: yoga, pilates, fitness, arts, cuisine & wine, and much more. You’ll find the program online: http://thehappyhamlet.com/retreats2020. All retreats have an intimate atmosphere (max 10 guests) and they are all-all-all-inclusive. Once you arrive we want you to be able to concentrate on the most important: yourself and your well-being.
