☀️ Happy Saturday everyone ⁣

I didn’t have the right mood to post tips recently as for what’s going on in Ukraine, let’s hope that things will get better soon 🙏🏻⁣

⛷ I stil have the last ski tip for this season, which was shared by Jasmin our community member, thanks for sharing Jasmine!! ⁣

📌 “I would like to recommend the ski school in Samoens, France, ⁣

💙 The instructors were fantastic, good class sizes, flexible class times, and the kids got a medal and certificate of completion after the week.⁣

📍 Lots of things to do in the area and great skiing for adults and kids alike”. ⁣

🙏🏻 Thanks Jasmine for sharing this great tip with us!! ⁣

👆🏼 If you would like to share a tip, DM, comment or use the link in the bio. ⁣⁣⁣⁣

🇦🇹 To cheer you up in these gloomy times, I'm happy to share another ski tip from a family who just returned from a ski vacation in Austria! If you would like to share a tip, DM, comment or use the link in the bio. ⁣

🙋🏻‍♀️ Andrea from Berlin spent a great family vacation in Austria with her husband and two boys, ages 7 and 9. ⁣

📌 They stayed at the beautiful Tirol Lodge Ellmau , which is located right in the middle between Munich, Innsbruck and Salzburg and only an hour's drive from each of these places. ⁣

This is what Andrea shared with us:⁣

🚡 "The hotel is right next to the ski lifts, which was very important to us since we like to get up early to go skiing. ⁣

💙 We loved the pool and the sauna. From the sauna you have a fantastic view of the mountains. ⁣

🏡 The rooms are nice and modern. The hotel itself is set up as individual houses, so you have to go in and out of different buildings, which sometimes does not feel so cozy. ⁣

⛷ The ski school "Top Ski Schule" in Ellmau is great! We have had our kids there a few times. The teachers are super warm with the kids and very adaptable." ⁣

🙏🏻 Thank you so much Andrea and family for sharing this great tip with us!⁣⁣⁣⁣

⛷ Happy Sunday everyone! I didn't post anything for a while, but the winter breaks are almost over in Northern Europe and I thought it's the right time to share the best tips around ski vacations with the family! ⁣

☝🏼I am excited to share our tips with you and would love for you to comment, DM or click on the link in the bio to share your tips with us, no effort is required on your side. As my friend wrote to me last week, "It's so hard to find good places to go with kids and friends tips are greatly appreciated." ⁣

⏰ So we booked last minute, literally a week before the vacation. It was the first ski vacation for the kids (5 and 7), which had been delayed a bit because of Covid. ⁣

🇦🇹 We ended up in Austria, took a one-hour direct flight from Berlin to Salzburg and headed to the in Grossarl, a small town just an hour from Salzburg airport. ⁣

Pros:⁣
🍦 A paradise for kids, a kids buffet with everything kids love from ice cream to PIzza, kids can serve themselves, baby friendly too. ⁣
👨‍👨‍👧‍👦 The hotel is designed with children in mind, the sink and services are adapted to the height of children, and you can get bed guards and even children's medicines if needed.⁣
⛷ The ski school is attached to the hotel, you can watch the kids ski from your room and get them there in 1 minute, the ski instructors were great with the kids and they all speak English. ⁣
🎿 You can rent ski equipment right at the hotel for a reasonable price.⁣
👫🏽There is a great kids club and a fantastic indoor playground with trampolines, ball pool, etc. ⁣
🐬 The kids loved the pool and water slide and there is even a family friendly sauna. ⁣
🧘🏽‍♀️The spa is great. ⁣

Cons: ⁣
🇩🇪 Most of the kids are German speakers, ours can speak German and had a lot of fun, but I am not sure about kids who can not speak German. ⁣
⏰ The ski school for kids is only from 10:00 to 13:00. ⁣
👩🏽‍💻 Working remotely: the internet is good, but you will not find the right working conditions and there are no areas in the hotels that are suitable for this. ⁣

💙 Overall, the kids were super happy and learned to ski in 5 days! ⁣

🇪🇺 I've been asked for travel ideas for sunny winter destinations in Europe. Do you have any ideas for destinations? Hotels? Airbnb's? Ideally with things to do for kids nearby. ⁣

🇮🇹 What do you think about Venice with the kids? We were there during last fall break and it was a hit! ⁣

⚓️ Venice is super romantic and unique, yet also a paradise for kids. There are no cars here so you don't have to worry about vehicles, roads, etc. Kids are free to run around and there are lots of different fun watercraft to keep them excited and busy! ⁣

🏡 The first fun attraction was the taxi boat from the airport that took us straight to the lovely apartment we booked it just off-center in the Castello district, less than a 10 minute walk from the famous Piazza San Marco, but much more local. ⁣

🔔 In Piazza San Marco, don't miss climbing the 'Campanile' bell tower, the tallest building in Venice. There is an elevator that takes you to the top where you can enjoy amazing views. We were there in the afternoon and there was no queue. ⁣

📌 We had a great family tour with a treasure hunt in Piazza San Marco and the Doge's Palace with the fantastic Lucia from Venice walks and tours . Lucia, a local Venetian, was great with the kids, super knowledgeable and both the kids and parents had fun and learned about the history of Venice. ⁣

🍹Right after, we had a fun aperitivo with a Venetian Spritz on the terrace of Hotel Danieli , which is known for its beautiful views. For dinner we went to Osteria Oliva Nera where the 'Baccala mantecato' is a must.⁣

🛶 The kids loved the gondola ride. I also recommend a walk to the Cannaregio district where you'll find the Jewish quarter. ⁣

📍 Not to be missed are the islands outside of Venice, the boat ride here is also fun for the kids. We visited Murano, famous for its glass making and watching the artisans at work is a unique experience. And Burano with its colorful houses, where we had a great lunch under the sun at Trattoria da Romano .da.romano. ⁣

🙏🏻 We can’t wait for our next sunny vacation at Christmas time. ⁣

⁉️ Would you like to share a favorite family vacation with us?⁣

🇪🇸 Happy Saturday everyone, today I'm happy to share another tip from a family who had a wonderful fall vacation in sunny Barcelona. D from Berlin, a mom of two kids (7 and 10), shared with us some great photos and tips:⁣

📌 "We had a lovely family time in Barcelona, enjoying the beautiful beach and visiting museums and attractions. I highly recommend Park Guell , one of Gaudi's most beautiful works. It's perfect for kids, a playful architecture and there's also a playground. ⁣

🖼 We visited 'La Sagrada Família' , Gaudi's stunning church. If you are an art lover, do not miss the Picasso Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art .⁣

📍Barcelona is all about Gaudi. We loved Casa Batlló , one of the most interesting buildings in Barcelona, and the impressive Casa Milà building . ⁣

🥘 The food was great. Here are some places we liked: The Venue Steakhouse, Bar But cool place with local vibes, Origo cafe bakery organic and local, great for breakfast and Monster Sushi . ⁣

🙏🏻 Thank you so much, D, for sharing so many great tips! Can't wait to go back to Barcelona with the family! ⁣

🎃 Happy Halloween everyone! In some parts of Europe we just had the Autumn break recently and many families have gone on vacation.⁣

📌 Luckily some families have shared their tips with us, save them for your next vacation! And if you want to share your tips with us DM or comment below to get in touch!⁣

🇫🇷 Corin from Berlin spent a wonderful fall vacation with her family in Provence and the Côte d'Azur in France. Check out Corin's tip below:⁣

🎨 "On the Côte d'Azur we started with Nice, a city where the sun shines all year round and where many well-known artists like Matisse and Chagall lived for many years. Do not miss the Marc Chagall Museum, I'm an art lover and this was one of my fav museums ever! In Nice I also recommend the Matisse Museum.⁣

🏖 Cannes (yes, the city of the famous film festival) and Saint-Tropez are all about wonderful beaches and shopping.⁣

❤️ In Provence, we loved the beautiful little city of Avignon with its medieval streets and historic buildings. We visited the Pont d'Avignon and the 'Palais Des Papes', the largest medieval Gothic palace in the world.⁣

🌸 We stayed in a farmhouse in the area, went horseback riding and visited the museum of lavender production.⁣

🥐 Other beautiful towns in Provence: Saint Rémy de Provence, Gordes, one of the region's most famous hilltop villages with narrow cobblestone streets. Fontaine de Vaucluse, with its impressive spring gushing from a 230m cliff!⁣

📍 In Grasse, a medieval town considered the perfume capital of the world, we visited the International Perfume Museum. And we also enjoyed Aix-en-Provence with its impressive old aristocratic palaces.⁣

🍰 My favorite cake was the Mille-feuille, which my grandmother baked for me every birthday."⁣

🙏🏻 Thank you so much, Corin! So many wonderful tips!!! I have saved them for one of our next vacations!!!⁣

⁉️ What about you? Where did you go for your fall vacation?⁣

⁉️ Happy Sunday everyone, Cristina asked us a question about Santorini with kids. Feel free to comment below or DM and I will post your answer: ⁣

🇬🇷 "I'm planning to go to Santorini with kids during spring time, and I'm not sure where on the island is the best place to stay with kids: in Fira or in Oia? ⁣

🏖 We'll also be spending 2 days in Athens. Has anyone ever been to Santorini with kids? I would really appreciate tips on the best places to stay, things to do, best beaches, etc, same goes for Athens". ⁣

Thanks ❤️🙏🏻⁣ ⁣⁣⁣

Hello friends, ⁣

🌎 I originally started this page with the idea of creating a new generation of a family travel App that is cool, fast, and personal (which I still do not think exists). Then Covid came and I pivoted a bit and started working on some other projects. ⁣

❤️ Until now we collected so many great tips thanks to many of you here. I hope to find some time in the future to put them on a website (If there's a parent developer out there who has some extra time, please get in touch :). ⁣

🙋🏻‍♀️ I know many of my friends and followers enjoy reading the tips. Besides my "regular job", I want to keep the page alive on the weekends. I'm not proactively looking for tips, so I will post whenever I get new tips from you! ⁣

🏖 Feel free to share your last summer vacation, places you love to visit with your family, I'm always happy to give credit to parents' IG pages. ⁣

⛷ Fall vacation will be here soon, followed by the ski season! I am sure we will all love to have some ideas here. ⁣

👉🏼 To share, use the link in the bio or just DM. ⁣

Cheers ⁣
