Update August 2020

Despite substantial challenges presented by this year progress towards opening continues!

Whilst work was severely restricted through 'lockdown', Clair still made determined progress; removal of overgrown ivy and extensive stands of bamboo as well as more weeding, digging, shaping and planting than you thought feasible for a single person demonstrating just how much one lady and her dogs can achieve, albeit in splendid isolation!!

With the easing of travel restrictions in mid-June and the arrival of more helping hands, site wide WiFi is now wired in, plumbing and plastering has made significant progress and Little Orchard is now in a much more positive place going into the autumn to complete the fit out of the first gite 'La Floraison'. The potential for an overhaul of the pool and filtration system this autumn while local trades can once again visit the site (subject always of course to strict COVID health and safety measures) adds further, much welcomed good news.

Whilst admittedly it was difficult to see how the future was developing for Little Orchard particularly through the initial global disruptions of the spring and early summer, fresh shoots of optimism are cautiously blossoming as we begin to look forward with excitement to welcoming first guests in the spring of 2021.
