This morning Blu found these 2 old oil lamps in the garage . They may look old & battered at present, but after a clean , some paint & being converted to electric, they will proudly light the door to the gite

Hello my wonderful followers
Not much happening at the moment , a combination of it being way too hot earlier in the week (39°) & them me having a 4 day episode of vertigo! But I'm gradually easing back in & should hopefully have pictures to show towards the end of the week !

We had to pop out for supplies & on the way back we thought we'd check out a beach lake we'd heard about .As it was impromptu we didnt have cossies but it looked very inviting. It's only a short drive from the gite . Who says you can't go to the beach in the Dordogne?

I know I've mentioned before, the many things left behind by the previous owners. This includes loads of wood, in different states & sizes .
Some of you will also know that before I was ill I was developing my love & skills in upcycling.
Combine these & i currently have 3 projects whirling in my head !

We've been here 3 months now ! Wow where has that gone ??
We are busy most days as , it's become apparent we viewed this place with rose tinted glasses .
I saw a fully functioning gite , all kitted out . What we got , when looking more closely was a fair bit of work .
Currently in the process of of fitting a new shower room ( the old one was rank ) & taking the kitchen back to its bones & updating it .
Would i change my mind , given what we now know ??
