🚐 NEW SERIES: The A96 Route - Beyond the Bypass
For many people, a trip in their van on the A96 is simply a means of getting from place to place - a route to get somewhere else. Aberdeen to Inverness. Coast to city. A stretch of tarmac travelled without much thought, the goal is just getting from A to B.
But what if you slowed down?
What if, instead of bypassing the towns, you explored them?
Over the coming weeks, I’ll be taking a closer look at the principal towns along the A96 route, from Aberdeen to Nairn, sharing history, hidden stories, interesting places, useful stops and things you may otherwise miss when simply driving through.

Some are places many of us know well. Others are often passed by with barely a second glance. Yet every one has its own character, stories and reasons to stop a while. I'll be combining resources collected recently with some from Robbie's Roadtrips.
So next time you’re on the A96, perhaps it’s worth taking the turn-off instead of driving straight past.
