A letter arrived today, that I wasn’t expecting.

Costello Travel has been nominated for Best Travel Agency at the Yorkshire Retail Business Awards 2026.

I’ll be honest, when I left a corporate career and started building a travel business, awards weren’t something I ever thought about.

Most days are spent doing the less glamorous bits:
• Following up enquiries
• Building supplier relationships
• Working on the website
• Creating content
• Networking
• Learning what actually works

So receiving something like this is a nice reminder that people are noticing what you’re building, even when progress sometimes feels slower than you’d like.
