Evening stroll with the four legged friend around Chawton House parkland, the Hampshire home of Edward Knight, Jane Austen’s brother.
It is difficult to believe that we are already in October - dare I say that I am ready for the cooler months, sitting in the pub by an open fire?!
Autumn is such a lovely time of year to visit The Hay Barn. We still have availability here and there before we shut up shop for December and January so do get in touch (link to website on bio) if you fancy a few days of country walks, gorgeous village pubs, beautiful country houses and of course lots of Jane Austen related interest.

Another glorious day and another beautiful bride, making her way along the lane to church, with her family. It was such a pleasure to host our second wedding party in The Hay Barn this month and in both instances Mother Nature came up trumps and delivered on the beautiful sunshine!
The bride looked so beautiful and radiant on her special day. A very special village wedding with the service at All Saints Church, followed by a fabulous reception at our wonderful village pub The Rose & Crown where they hosted 90 of their friends and family, making use of the lovely gardens and beautiful view across the fields.
Let us know if you are planning a Farringdon wedding - we love hosting in the barn, whether the bride, groom or family and friends. We will ensure that you are as comfortable and relaxed as you can be around your special occasion!

Village life! The Farringdon summer garden show last weekend. Second prize for our roses 🌹 and runner beans 🎉 . We now have a glut of runners - I wonder if our wedding guests this weekend would like a handful?!

It was such a pleasure to host the beautiful bride, her bridesmaids and family for a very special wedding in the village last weekend.
The barn was a hive of activity in the run up with popping corks, bouquets of flowers, lots of laughter and happy photographs before the bridal party made the short stroll along the lane to our beautiful village church.
The sun shone and the day was utterly perfect in every way.
Congratulations Mr and Mrs C 🥂🍾.
September is a busy month and in a couple of weeks we are looking forward to playing host to another wedding party, with the couple also getting married in All Saints Church. Fingers crossed for another fun filled weekend!

Dropped in to The Lavender Fields. Est. 1999 to restock our supply of delicious hand and body lotion, hand wash and shower gel for our guests. The lavender is just coming into bloom in the fields and the aroma is sensational. So worth a visit for a wander around the fields and a cup of tea in the delightful cafe and shop.

Rather a wonderful display of black headed gulls having a lovely time swooping over the fields and no doubt having their fill of whatever culinary delights are on offer!
It is a scorcher here and only set to get hotter! Fans at the ready for our next guests!
