👋🏻 Hello Little Clogs Families!

Many of you have reached out to us over the summer looking for child friendly restaurants near the holiday park/resort you have been staying at, or a great place to stop on your way to the different ferry ports/tunnel.

We thought it could be really useful to share all the little gems that you have discovered during your own holidays. So, if you have a recommendation please pop it in the comments for other families to see. It is helpful to name where you were staying/route you were taking too👇.

It’s easy to see why Duinrell is one of our most popular featured parks! It has a fantastic location (30 mins from Amsterdam airport, the pretty town of Wassenaar 5 mins walk away, a beautiful beach 4km away) and the onsite facilities are impressive and suitable for all ages. 🎢 💦

We’re often asked if Duinrell is suitable for little ones too and the answer is yes! Not only does the theme park have plenty of attractions for younger guests but the indoor pool complex has a separate area for younger children called “Playa”. Here you can find 4 smaller waterslides, a pool which is 15cm deep, and plenty of exploratory toys and water jets.

After a week of waterparks, attraction parks and safari parks we’ve slowed things down with a few days at this wholesome Belgian farm!

Our luxury glamping tent at Hoeve den Overdraght has an idyllic spot with cornfields on one side and the farm playground and trampoline on the other. We’ve splashed in the farmer’s pool, watched a baby calf being born, helped feed the animals and enjoyed the wood-fired pizzas on pizza night!

Hoeve den Overdraght is half an hour from the Belgian coast and Plopsaland, 15 mins from Ypres and an hour from Calais.

We (Laura and family) are at Landal Het Vennenbos this week, having a wonderful time!💦 🌳 ☀️

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been down the rapids (watch out for the bump at the end! 😂) and the kids (10 and 9) are loving the subtropical pool. The newest area with the smaller slides has been a hit too, especially the Hurricone slide which my daughter said was like a mini version of the Hof van Saksen Bombo!

We’ve done the mini Land Rover safari, rented a pedalo and tried our hand at the mini golf.

We’ve had some day trips out too: to the pretty, medieval town of Oirschot, canoeing down the Dommel river, a trip to Irrland and a few hours at TerSpegelt making the most of the lake beach area 🏖️. We also popped over to Beekse Bergen which is only 30 mins away!

When we (Laura and family) stayed at Landal Domein de Schatberg we took a day trip to a wonderful, quirky play park called Speelpark Klein Zwitserland, just 20 mins drive away.

Set in the woods it has a fairytale feel to it, one of the best mini golfs I’ve seen, many different play areas and a fantastic paddling pool area with a small slide and tipping buckets!

Next door there are treetop climbing ropes which I tried out with my then 7 year old.

We highly recommend this as a day trip with young children! 🌳 🍄 🇳🇱 💦

It’s not every day you get to watch a parade of classic cars/boats going past your house!

We (Laura and family) loved watching these amphibious vehicles making their way into Gent this morning! 🇧🇪 ❤️ 🚤 🚘

☀️ What a perfect sunny day, and there wasn’t a better place to spend it than at Hansel and Gretel Pancake House! 🌳🥞

We had such a blast, from delicious pancakes to water play and plenty of fun both indoors and out. The kids explored freely, the food hit the spot, and the sunshine made it all even sweeter.

Highly recommend for a family day out — good food, great vibes, and so much space to play (reservation recommended) 💦🇳🇱🍴
