Nith Cottage
This outstanding farm building conversion, awarded 5 stars by the Scottish Tourist Board in 2007, has been completed to the highest standard, with solid oak floors in the entrance and kitchen, oak doors, beams, window shutters and cupboards. Nith Cottage enjoys glorious views from all south-facing windows looking across fields and the river Nith to the Southern Uplands. This spacious

cottage is all on one level and is suitable for the disabled. Mote Cottage
This cosy detached south facing cottage stands within a large safely enclosed garden, enjoying panoramic views of the Nith Valley. Mote Cottage is named after Mote Knowe, which is the small hillock in front of the cottage. The cottage is furnished and equipped to a high standard (4 star standard). The bright sunny rooms are comfortably furnished in a modern cottage style. The country cottage garden has a mixture of flowers, fruit, vegetables and herbs, which guests are free to enjoy during their stay.

Thank you for all your lovely comments. We don't know where we are going yet. Still to find somewhere so will be lodging with relations. I will be handing over control of the page soon, just need to work out how to do that, as l am not very good with anything to do with I.T.

Nith Holiday Cottages is having a change of ownership, with the new owners taking over at the end of January 2018.
They will be continuing with the holiday lets, though there will be changes which may take a short period of time before they are able to take bookings. I will pass any enquiry on to them

enjoyed a lovely day out yesterday at the Galloway Country Fair at Drumlanrig Castle. There was a bird of prey demonstration from Owl Magic which was brilliant. Then found out that that you can have a personal birds of prey experience at their Ayrshire Owl and Rapter Centre near Kilmarnock, only 30 minutes drive from our holiday cottages!!! :-) See their web site or page for details

Only a 10 minute drive from our holiday cottages is Dumfries House. All the different gardens are beautiful, but the Queen Elizabeth walled garden is amazing just now. Could have stayed and enjoyed the view all day. :-)

Nearly all gone. He obviously likes cat food!! :-)

A happy hedgehog, maybe he will come at breakfast time more often now so he gets a special meal all to himself. :-)
